  • Little Pigeon to host gospel sing
    LAMAR – Little Pigeon Baptist Church, off Indiana 245 near Lamar, will host a gospel sing at 7 p.m. Saturday.
    River City Quartet will be the special guests. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.

  • TELL CITY – A live auction Friday and golf tournament the following day will raise funds for the Schreiber Family Charity.
    Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Florida vacations will be among items to be sold in the Charlie Tuggle Memorial Live Auction beginning at 7 p.m. Friday at the Moose lodge in Tell City.

  • Jim and Julie Underhill of Doolittle Mills celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary Sept. 5, 2011.
    The couple commemorated the event with their immediate family by dining out and staying at Spring Mill Inn in Mitchell.
    Mr. Underhill married the former Julie Curl Sept. 5, 1981, at the Bethel Christian Church in Doolittle Mills.
    The couple has two children, Kimberly Schwindel and her husband, Stephen and Kayla Underhill, all of Doolittle Mills.

  • Brilynn May Greulich
    Brian and Amber Greulich of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Brilynn May Greulich, Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 inches long.
    Mrs. Greulich is the former Amber Lynn Weatherholt. Brilynn has one older brother, Drew Richard Greulich, 4.
    Grandparents are Rick and Terri Greulich of Tell City and David and Debbie Weatherholt of Tell City.

  • Brooke Schipp and Jason Blair of Santa Claus an-nounce their engagement and approaching marrige.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Jane Schipp of Santa Claus and Mike Schipp of Dale. She is a 2003 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and a 2008 graduate of Purdue University with a bacholor’s degree in building construction management. She is self-employed.
    Mr. Blair is the son of Kelley and Jeff Fentress of Newburgh, Ed and Sandy Blair of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Kenny and Linda Crowley of Rockport.

  • Felicia Ann Litherland and Markus Elliot Robbins were united in marriage during a morning ceremony Friday, Aug. 26, 2011.

    The bride is the daughter of Carol and Jeff Pannett of Tell City. Mr. Robbins is the son of Shakin Robbins of Tell City and Renee Rogier of Grandview.
    The double-ring ceremony was held at the Perry County Courthouse in Tell City. Krystal Leigh Braun, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. The best man was Samuel Joseph Litherland, brother of the bride.

  • Kelsie Gogel of Fulda and Cody Gerber of Elnora were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony held Saturday, June 11, 2011, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda.

    The bride is the daughter of Dan and Janet Gogel of Fulda and Santa Claus. Mr. Gerber is the son of Joe and Cindy Gerber of Clay City.
    The bride was given in marriage by her father during the double-ring ceremony officiated by Deacon James King.

  • TELL CITY – The following entrants were judged winners in the Schweizer Fest Street Car Parade held Aug. 10.
    Among participants ages 4 and younger, first place went to Donnie and Abbie Kline; Angus Machen, second place; Isabella Martin, third place.
    Winners for ages 5 to 7 were Levi Smith and Raelyn Smith, first place; Sawyer Guillaume, second place; Braxton and Brody Biever, third place; Trent Moore and Dakota Howell, fourth place and Chase Martin, fifth place.
    The grand-prize winner went to Alyssa and Cameron Howell.

  • PERRY COUNTY – Students in primary and secondary schools – both public and private, K-12 – are invited to design a poster for the 23rd annual River Sweep 2012.
    Fifteen prizes will be awarded to students. The grand prize is a $500 U.S. Savings Bond, and the school representing the grand-prize winner will also receive an award.
    A $500 U.S. Savings Bond will be presented to the student with the winning design for the official River Sweep T-shirt. Thirteen $50 U.S. Savings Bonds will be awarded to one winner at each grade level.
