  • DERBY – The King family reunion was held Sept. 30 at Twin Lakes Cedar Cabins with 61 family members in attendance.
    Fish, chicken and potatoes were provided fort he meal with families taking covered dishes.
    Attending were the descendants of Lonnie Richard and Susie Clara (Sanders) King.

  • The Perry Central High School Class of 1992 gathered for its 20th class reunion recently at Blue Heron Winery.

  • Harvest Carnival at St. John’s Lutheran
    EVANSTON – St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evanston will host a Harvest Carnival from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.
    The event is sponsored by St. John’s church and SonShine Early Learning Ministry. There will be free food, bounce houses, games and trunk-or-treats from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All are invited to attend.

  • The Perry County Democrats held a drawing for a $25 Visa card at the annual Cannelton Heritage Fest Oct. 13. Judy Muenier was the winner. Pictured at the drawing are Isaac Corley, Bill Amos and Arvina Bozarth.

  • TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual holiday bazaar from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 1. There will also be a silent auction.
    Several items are up for bid and include a one-night stay for two, a spa session for two and cafe breakfast for two at the West Baden Inn, two one-day passes to Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari, a C & S gas card, a Christmas wreath, a certificate for one dessert each month for one year beginning in January 2013, a necklace and a Longaberger Christmas plate.

  • Brad and Danielle Hall of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Wayde Alexander Hall, Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
    The infant weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 inches long.
    Mrs. Hall is the former Danielle Harth.

  • Mike and Amanda Gannon of West Palm Beach, Fla., announce the birth of their daughter, Grace Lillian Gannon, Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Boca West Medical Center in Boca Raton, Fla.
    The infant weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 22 inches long.
    The Gannons also have a son, Gavin Michael, 3. Mrs. Gannon is the former Amanda Held of Tell City.
    Grandparents are Paul and Kathi Held of Tell City, Mary Lou Gannon of Newburyport, Mass., and the late Russ Gannon. Great-grandmother is Margarett Parks of Tell City.

  • Angela Matheny and Randy Masterson of Tell City announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

  • PERRY COUNTY – Bethany McCoy, 9, earned the president’s volunteer service award for volunteering 50 hours in the community.

    She helped at local food pantries, The Clothing Closet and The Table of Blessings as well as nine hours working at the Little Warriors benefit in March.  

    She is the only Girl Scout in Perry County to receive this honor, one of only a few in the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana Council region and the only one in her age group.
