  • TELL CITY – Tell City First Church of the Nazarene will host a weekend vacation Bible school, “Hay Day—Growing in Friendship with Jesus,” from July 19 through July 21 at the church.  
    This VBS is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences where kids will see, hear and touch. Team-building games, Bible songs and multi-sensory Bible adventures are just a few of the activities that participating kids will enjoy, organizers said.

  • Emmanuel Lutheran Church held its annual Vacation Bible School in June. Thirty-three children attended the week-long program. They learned five different Bible stories, sang songs and had craft time. The week ended with a closing program on Friday evening.

  • Church-wide bake, yard sales
    TELL CITY – First United Methodist Church, 10th and Mozart streets in Tell City, will host a church-wide yard and bake sale.
    The sale will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 11 and from 7 to 11 a.m. July 12. There will be men’s, women’s and children’s clothing; tools; jewelry; computer items; books; movies; shoes; purses; what-knots; home-grown produce; dishes; puzzles; toys; baby items and flowers.
    The community is invited to attend.

  • Sarah Schneider and Micheal Harris of Cannelton announce the birth of their daughter, Ashelynn Nicole Skylar Harris, Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
    The infant weighed 5 pounds, 2 ounces and was 16 3⁄4 inches long.
    Ashelynn has two older siblings, MaKayla Schneider, 4, and Gabriel Christian, 9.
    Grandparents are Barbara and Orlando Telles of Albuquerque, N.M.; Richard Schneider of Cincinnati, Ohio; Dottie Camp of Cloverport, Ky., and the late Al Darrel Harris.

  • Philip and Lauren Hartz of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Hadley Teresa Hartz, Monday, June 24, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 21 inches long.
    Mrs. Hartz is the former Lauren Ramsey.
    Grandparents are Chris and Karen Ramsey and Jon and Teri Hartz, all of Tell City.
    Great-grandparents are Guy Neil and LaVerne Ramsey and Emma Jean Paulin, all of Tell City, and the late Charles Paulin, Dr. James and Maureen Wood and Jim and Bernice Hartz.
     

  • Chad and Sara E. Vaal of St. Meinrad announce the birth of their daughter, Anna Elizabeth Vaal, Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 21 inches long.
    Mrs. Vaal is the former Sara Schaefer. Anna has one older brother, Lane, 2.
    Grandparents are Randall and Doris Schaefer and Marvin and Mary Jo Vaal, all of St. Meinrad.
    Great-grandparents are Eileen Schaefer of St. Meinrad, Rita Mulzer of New Boston, Anna Vaal and Jerome and Frances Brinkman, all of Ferdinand.

  • PERRY COUNTY – The 2013 class of final-year and 10-year 4-H members is made up of 19 individuals. Final-year 4-H members are Ashley Aders, Sarah Allen, Nathan Bashor, Loren Braunecker, Shelby Crane, Nathaniel Dauby, Lauren Davis, Taylor Elmer, Ashley Gengelbach, Lynsay Goffinet, Levi Hilgenhold, April Huebschman, Adam Kleaving, Haley Machen, Courtney McDaniel, Cathryn Peter, Kayla Seifert, Deni Taylor and Sara Wenzel.

  • Robert Dean Stilwell and Jessica Morgan Tinch announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Paula F. Tinch of Tell City and William O. Tinch of Munice. Mr. Stilwell is the son of Charles L. Stilwell of Tobinsport and Diane Buntin of Tell City.
    A private ceremony is planned for Monday, July 15, 2013, in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
    A reception will be held at the Stilwells’ home at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 20. Friends and family are invited to attend.

  • Cannelton Police Chief Lee Hall accepts a donation for the Kenny Kellems Camp with a Cop from MuGamma Beta Sigma Phi representative Mayor Mary Snyder. MuGamma has donated to the camp since its beginning.
