  • Brad and Danielle Hall of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Wayde Alexander Hall, Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
    The infant weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 inches long.
    Mrs. Hall is the former Danielle Harth.

  • Mike and Amanda Gannon of West Palm Beach, Fla., announce the birth of their daughter, Grace Lillian Gannon, Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Boca West Medical Center in Boca Raton, Fla.
    The infant weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 22 inches long.
    The Gannons also have a son, Gavin Michael, 3. Mrs. Gannon is the former Amanda Held of Tell City.
    Grandparents are Paul and Kathi Held of Tell City, Mary Lou Gannon of Newburyport, Mass., and the late Russ Gannon. Great-grandmother is Margarett Parks of Tell City.

  • Angela Matheny and Randy Masterson of Tell City announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

  • PERRY COUNTY – Bethany McCoy, 9, earned the president’s volunteer service award for volunteering 50 hours in the community.

    She helped at local food pantries, The Clothing Closet and The Table of Blessings as well as nine hours working at the Little Warriors benefit in March.  

    She is the only Girl Scout in Perry County to receive this honor, one of only a few in the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana Council region and the only one in her age group.  

  • TELL CITY – Free adult-education classes offered by WorkOne Southwest will begin Friday at the Ivy Tech Campus in Tell City.

    Those participating in the classes will be able to improve math and English skills, add a GED to their resumes, prepare for post-secondary training, pursue WorkIn certification in locally in-demand fields and increase wage earning potential.

  • TELL CITY – Students at Tell City Junior-Senior High School will receive grade cards and parent-teacher conference information today.

    Parent-teacher conferences will be held from 4 until 7:45 p.m. Thursday, which will be a full day of school for students. School will not be in session Friday or Oct. 29 due to fall break.

    Appointments will not be scheduled, and conferences will be held on a first-come basis; however, it is important the teachers know which parents plan to attend so they can be prepared for the conferences.

  • TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior-Senior High School will host a celebration to honor local veterans at 8 a.m. Nov. 12.

    A free breakfast will be offered to all veterans. Parking will be available in the Fulton Street parking lot. Those attending are asked to RSVP by Nov. 5 by calling 547-3131.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lewis of Tell City announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Haley Lewis, to Aaron Trimm of Edmonton, Ky., son of Ron and Debbie Trimm of Paragould, Ark.

    The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of Perry Central High School and attended Crowley’s Ridge College in Paragould.

    Mr. Trimm is a graduate of Crowley’s Ridge College with a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies. He is the minister at the South Edmonton Church of Christ in Edmonton.

  • Kyla Edwards and Isaac Schroeder were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold.

    The bride is the daughter of David and Gail Edwards of Leopold. Mr. Schroeder is the son of Duane and Tracy Schroeder of Tell City.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Brian Esarey.
