  • Nicole L. Kerstiens of Ferdinand and Wesley D. Sitzman of Bristow an-nounce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Debbie Kerstiens of Ferdinand and the late Patrick Kerstiens. She graduated from Forest Park High School in 2009 and the University of Southern Indiana in 2013. She is employed as a registered nurse at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

  • Courtney Briggeman and Brandon Sabelhaus of Tell City announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Dave and Kathy Briggeman of Tell City. She is a 2006 graduate of Tell City High School and graduated from ITT Technical Institute in Newburgh after studying computer electronics engineering technology. She works at the Perry County Courthouse.
    Mr. Sabelhaus is the son of Dave and Diane Sabelhaus of Bristow. He is a 2005 graduate of Perry Central High School and works at Waupaca.

  • Curry Parker, son of Joe Parker and Beth James, and Myla Jarboe, daughter of Greg and Ronica Jarboe, were crowned Little Mister and Little Miss Perry County 4-H Fair during festivities in July.

  • The Troy High School Class of 1948 met at the Patio June 22.

    There were 10 class members present. Pictured in the front from the left are Joe Detzer, Bill Rust, Charles Hattenbach and Albert Gross. In the back are Helen Richardson, Hazel Fortwendel, Lola Mae James, Clara Staats, Jo Ola McLain and Ruth Gunn. Not present were Anastasia Wollenman, Marion Brumfield, Linus Linne and Jim Pearson.

  • William Tell Elementary was well represented at the Schweizer Fest 2-mile and 6-mile road runs. Participants – students from kindergarten to sixth grade as well as staff members – celebrated by wearing their race shirts to school.

  • EVANSVILLE – Michaela and Jonah Kunkler, members of the Happy Hoosiers 4-H Club in Evansville, competed in their county’s 4-H team demonstration contest May 30 and were eligible to compete at the Indiana State Fair Aug. 4.

  • Michael and Katherine Paulin of Bristow will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at the St. Meinrad Community Center.

    All family and friends are welcome to attend from 1 to 5 p.m.
    Mr. and Mrs. Paulin were married July 28, 1988. They have three children, Beth Ann of Bristow, Kyle of Bristow and Brittney of Dale.

  • Erica Rogier of Branch-ville and Andrew Perryman of Palmyra announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Linus and Michelle Rogier of Branchville. She is a graduate of Perry Central High School and Indiana University-Southeast in New Albany with a degree in criminal justice.

  • Ministry cook out Saturday
    TROY – Due to the rain, the cook out for the Keys to the Kingdom Outreach Ministries has been rescheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Indiana 66 and Indiana 545 at the stoplight in Troy.
    Everyone is invited for free hot dogs and drinks. Free items including clothes, kitchen items and furniture for local families in need will be available.
