  • St. Paul TGIF set for Friday
    TELL CITY - St. Paul Catholic Church will host TGIF - beer brats, burgers and band - Friday, May 30, from 7 to 11 p.m. in the church parking lot.

    Entertainment will be provided by the St. Anthony area band, The Recycled Teenagers.

  • Jordan Zuckschwerdt and Latisha Bryant of New Albany announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Joe and Melissa Glenn of Tell City and Archie Bryant of Gentryville.

    She is a 2010 graduate of Perry Central High School and a 2014 graduate of Indiana Southeast University Southeast with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She is currently employed at Target in Clarksville.

  • Haley Coogan and David McCoskey of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Stefan Allen Joe McCoskey. He was delivered May 19, 2014, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    Stefan has two siblings, Nevaeh, 3, and Zayden, 1.

    Grandparents are Kim and James Malone and Bill McCoskey, all of Tell City.

    Great-grandparents are Paul and Mary Van Note of Tell City.

  • Downer and Cindy Spencer of Evanston announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Trisha Spencer, to Jerry Ammon of Tell City.

    The groom-to-be is the son of Lesa and Ron Ammon of Tell City.
    He is a 2010 graduate of Tell City Junior-Senior High School and is employed as a state correctional officer.

    The bride-to-be is a 2010 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and a 2014 graduate of the University of Evansville with a bachelor’s degree in special education.

  • TELL CITY – Brothers Will and Beau Goffinet of Tell City recently got a chance to take their love of the Mario Brothers video game to the next level.

    This Friday, the two will appear on the PBS children’s show “The Friday Zone” dressed as their favorite characters, Mario and Luigi.

    The Mario Brothers video game features two sibling plumbers, Mario and Luigi, whose jobs are to investigate the strange creatures inhabiting the sewers of New York City.

  • Jennifer Schwartz and Adam Meunier, both of Grandview, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dave and Barbara King of Santa Claus and Murl Schwartz of Troy.

    The future groom is the son of Mike and Laura Meunier of Evanston.

    Miss Schwartz is a 2007 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana.

    She is a registered nurse in the Surgical Trauma Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

  • In honor of Public Service Recognition Week, May 11-17, Tell City Mayor Barbara Ewing presents a signed mayoral proclamation to Forest Fire Management Officer Terry Severson Friday during a gathering of present and former U.S. Forest Service employees.

    The proclamation states Americans are served daily by public servants at the federal, state, county and city levels; work to keep our nation working; include military personnel, police officers, firefighters, health care professionals, teachers, scientists and countless other occupations.
