  • Paige and Jarrett Ransom of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Bexley Emmi-Lynn Ransom on Dec. 21, 2016, at Owensboro Health in Owensboro, Ky.

    She weighed 8 pounds and six ounces and was 21 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are John and Cindy Yaggi of Cannelton. Paternal grandparents are Jim and Ruth Ransom of St. Croix.

    Great-grandparents include Don and Barbara Coogle of Cannelton, Emory and the late Beatrice Yaggi of Cannelton and Mary Lois Ransom of Branchville.

    Bexley was welcomed home by her brother, Bensen Ransom, 4.

  • FERDINAND – The Oblates of the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand will hold their first meeting of the year on Sunday, Jan. 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. EST in St. Gertrude Hall at Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand.

    The meeting topic will be “Silence” from the Holy Rule of St. Benedict,” to be presented by Sister Mary Ann Verkamp OSB. Oblates are Christian women and men from all walks of life who associate themselves with a specific Benedictine monastery, such as the monastery in Ferdinand.

  • The parents of Chelsie Dobberstein and Zachary Rogier of Huntertown, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Karina and Dave Dobberstein of Grabill. The future husband is the son of Sue and Kevin Rogier of Branchville.

    The bride-to-be graduated from Leo Junior-Senior High School in 2010. She also graduated from Ball State University in 2014 with a degree in education. She is employed as a special education teacher at Dekalb Central School district in Waterloo.

  • Laura and Dr. Phillip Adams of Newburgh announce the birth of their son, Jacob Evan, on Oct. 28, 2016, at The Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.

    He weighed 6 pounds and 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Jacob was welcomed home by siblings, Emily, 5, and Luke, 2 ½.

    Grandparents are Jerry and Phyllis Schaefer of Tell City and Steve and Cheryl Adams of Evansville.

    The mother is the former Laura Schaefer.

  • Hannah L. Jay of Haubstadt and Logan N. Everly of Evansville were united in marriage in a 2 p.m. double-ring ceremony Oct. 29, 2016, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, where Rev. Tony Ernst officiated.

    The bride is the daughter of Rick and Carmen Jay of Haubstadt. The groom is the son of Jeff and Shari Everly of Tell City.

    The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

    The matron of honor was cousin of the bride, Anna Luigs of Evansville.

  • Ariel and Ryan Franchville of Derby announce the birth of their son, Waylon Scott Franchville, Nov. 22, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville.

    Waylon weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces and was 19 ¾ inches long.

    Paternal grandparents are Kim and Scott Franchville of Derby. Maternal grandparents are Michele and Ivan Bland III of Branchville.

    Great-grandparents include Bob and Geraldine Cronin of Tell City, Peggy Franchville of Bristow, Paul and Sally Harpenau of Branchville, Evelyn Harpenau of Branchville and Nancy Bland of Rome.

  • Ralph and LaVerne Zuelly of Tell City will celebrate their 70th anniversary Jan. 14, 2017.

    They were married Jan. 14, 1947, in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Tell City.

    Their attendants were LaVerne’s sister, Geraldine (Jerry) George, and Charles (Chuck) Burst.
