  • Mary Ann and Bird Howard announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of Vanessa Ranae Ballow-Embry and Jeremy Howard, both of Tell City.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Melody White of Tell City and the late William Ballow, of Cannelton.

    The future groom is the son of Mary Ann and Bird Howard, of Tell City.

    The bride-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and is currently employed at Waupaca Foundry.

    The future groom is a 1999 graduate at Tell City High School and is employed with ATTC Manufacturing.

  • TELL CITY – U.S. Army PFC Hannah F. Schaefer of Tell City graduated Basic Combat Training Sept. 1, at Fort Leonardwood, Mo.

    Because Shaefer enlisted in the split-ops program, she has returned home to complete the nursing program at Vincennes University-Jasper Campus. Following graduation, she will report to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. There, she will complete advanced individual training, specializing as a combat medic.

    Shaefer is the daughter of Kenny and Regina Schaefer of Tell City.

  • Kayla Carter and Matthew Gallagher, both of Troy, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rhonda Carter of English and Darryl Carter of Tell City. She is a graduate of Perry Central High School and the University of Southern Indiana. She is employed at the office of Dr. Marcrum, Bailey & Kleeman.

    The future groom is the son of Henry Gallagher III and the late Sarah Gallagher of Hawesville. He is a graduate of Tell City High School and is currently employed at Waupaca Foundry.

  • Kara Leigh Dauby and Joey William Peter announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Glen and Kathy Dauby of Tell City. She is a 2011 graduate of Perry Central High School and earned a degree from Ivy Tech.

    She is a certified medical assistant at St. Mary’s Medical Group in Rockport.

  • TELL CITY – After every home football game for the Tell City Marksmen, Tell City First United Methodist Church, located at 702 10th St., will host a free event for junior high and high school youth approximately 30 minutes after each game is over, with pick-up at 11:30 p.m.

    If interested in helping to make these events a success, contact Pastor Sam at (812) 547-2800 or umcpastorsam@gmail.com. Help spread the word to the Junior high and high school youth of the community.

  • DERBY – “BE Still and know that I am God” is the theme of the women’s retreat scheduled for Oct. 14-16. BE Ministry will host the retreat for women 18 years old and older.

    The retreat will be held at the Glenn Wood Hills Camp and Retreat Center in Derby. The guest speaker and facilitator for the weekend will be Beth Boling of Blue Grass United Methodist Church in Evansville.

  • CANNELTON – Gospel Tabernacle Church will hold its third annual song and praise jamboree at its outdoor pavilion Saturday, Sept. 10, from 2 to 5 p.m.

    Guests are invited to share their talents with the congregation or simply enjoy the talents being shared.

    Light refreshments will be served during intermissions.

    The pavilion is located at 5425 Girl Scout Road, in Cannelton.

  • Mark and Rebecca Fenn and Phil and Jan Greenberg announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Amanda Fenn and Nate Greenberg.

    The wedding will take place Oct. 22, 2016, near their home in Mammoth Lakes, Calif.

    Amanda is a graduate of Tell City High School and DePauw University and recently completed her Masters of Public Health at the Colorado School of Public Health. Nate is a native Californian, having graduated from the University of California at Davis and serves as the Mono County Director of Information Technology.
