  • Lauren and Kevin Foley, of Whitestown, announce the birth of their son, Gabriel Patrick Foley.

    Gabriel was born Dec. 31, 2015, at Indiana University Health North Medical Center in Carmel.

    Maternal grandparents are Theresa and Dean Smith of Jasper. Paternal grandparents are Theresa and Rick Foley of Chandler.

    Great-grandparents are Judy and Joe Hagedorn of Tell City, Charlotte Smith of Bristow and Ellie Foley of Newburgh.

  • TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City will host a series of four Lenten talks by the Rev. Thomas Richstatter. The series is titled, Being Catholic in the Direction Pope Francis is Leading. The first talk is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16, with future presentations scheduled for Feb. 23, March 8 and March 15. All will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Paul Parish Hall.

  • Wendy Freeman-Chann and Mike Chann announce the birth of their son, Rory Freeman Chann. He was born Jan. 29, 2016, in Tucker, Ga.

    Rory weighed 8 pounds and 2 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Linda and Tom Freeman of Tell City. Paternal grandparents are Karen and Nick Chann of Franklin, Ky., and Diane Hill from Kingston, N.C.

    Maternal great-grandparents are Evelyn and Leonard Goffinet of rural Perry County and Verna and Norman Freeman of Tell City. Paternal great-grandmother is Layane Hill of Kingston, N.C.

  • Stephanie and Matt Glenn, of Cannelton, announce the birth of their daughter Evelynn Mae Glenn. She was born April 17, 2015, at 4:49 a.m. at Deaconess Women’s Hospital in Evansville. She weighed 9 pounds and 5 ounces and was 20 ½ inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are David Bosley of Tell City and Joan and Brian Lasher of Rockport.

    Paternal grandparents are Kathy and Harold Lee Glenn of Cannelton.

    Great-grandparents are Ovalee and Dorothy LaGrange of Tell City and Iola Lasher of Leopold.

  • St. Paul Boy Scout Troop fish fry Friday

     

    TELL CITY – The Boy Scouts are sponsoring their annual fish fry Friday, Feb. 12, at the St. Paul Parish Hall. Serving will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Both dining-in and carry-outs will be available.

    Proceeds will go toward the boys’ summer camp and necessary equipment for that trip. This year’s plans are to go to a western Tennessee camp called Camp Mack Morris. Cost for the all-you-can-eat meal is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and younger.

  • TELL CITY – Mary Seibert, regent of Daughters of Isabella Nativity Circle No. 710, has been appointed Indiana state vice regent. She was appointed by state regent Valerie Nelson of Peru, Ind.

    She previously held the title of recording secretary for a two-year term and served as and auditor for four years.

    The state vice regent is chairperson of the state’s standing and internal rules and liturgical and spiritual activities.

  • Mallory M. Raven of Chrisney and Nathan M. Gehlhausen of Tell City announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

    The couple is to be married April 9, 2016, at Little Pigeon Baptist Church. The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m., with a reception to follow at The Schergens Center in Tell City.

    The parents of the bride-to-be are Terry and Jeannette Raven of Chrisney. Parents of the future groom are Jeff and Carl Gehlhausen of Tennyson.
