    All girls who would like to join Girl Scouts may attend and sign up.

  • TELL CITY – The Lafayette Spring Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host its first meeting for the 2014-15 year at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Tell City branch of the Perry County Public Library.

    The program topic will be NSDAR and the Penny Pines in the Hoosier National Forest, which began in Perry County.

    Presenting the program will be guest speaker Rita Dunlap, past regent of the Capt. Henry Vanderburgh Chapter in Evansville.

    The public is invited.

  • TELL CITY – Southern Indiana Biker Buds will host benefits for Dakota Boeglin Saturdays, Sept. 13 and 20.

    Dakota, 2, was diagnosed with hairy congenital nevi, which must be surgically removed due to a risk of cancer. Dakota’s family anticipates a minimum of 16 additional surgeries.

  • BIRDSEYE – Descendants of James C. and Hannah (Newton-Enlow) Faulkenburg are invited to a family reunion beginning at noon Sunday, Sept. 21, at Patoka Lake Shelter House No. 1.

    The children of James and Hannah include Ida, James, Leora Enlow, Mack, Ella, Charles Edward, Minnie and Essie Faulkenburg.

    Everyone is asked to take a covered dish and drinks. Lunch will begin at noon.

  • TELL CITY – Former employees of Danner 3-D Discount Store are invited to a reunion from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Bill and Dave’s Smokin’ Pit at 1527 11th Street in Tell City.

    Spouses and family members of former employees are welcome to attend. Food will be available.

  • Kyla Michelle Zellers of Tell City and Benjamin Edward Rigby of Lowell announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kim and Michael Kent Zellers of Tell City.

    The future groom is the son of Lynn and Ed Rigby of Waller, Texas.

    Miss Zellers is a 2009 graduate of Tell City Junior-Senior High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana. She is a dental hygienist at Santa Claus Family Dentistry and the office of Dr. Fred Meister in Owensboro, Ky.

  • Natasha Kieser of Derby and D.J. Newton of Tell City announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kenny and Susie Kieser of Derby. The groom-to-be is the son of Traci Newton of Tell City.

    The wedding ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Twin Lakes Cedar Cabins in Derby. A reception will follow at the same location.

  • Rachel Goad and Michael Garmer were united in marriage during a morning ceremony April 26, 2014, at Highland Church of Christ in Johnson City, Tenn.

    The bride is the daughter of Dea Goad of Tell City and the late Ralph Goad.

    The groom is the son of Shawn and Jackie Garmer of Jonesborough, Tenn.

    The bride was given away by her brother, Bob Goad, in a double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Byron Paddock.

  • TELL CITY – The 88th annual Capt. Andrew Peter Batson family reunion will take place Sunday, Aug. 31, at St. Mark Parish Hall.

    The meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. Everyone attending is asked to take a covered dish and drinks as well as genealogy information and photos to share.

    Paper goods will be supplied. The meal will be followed by a family meeting.

  • TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus will host a youth soccer challenge at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Ranger Station Field at 16th and Washington. Boys and girls ages 9-14 are invited to participate.
