  • Emily Josilynn Nicole Rogers announced the birth of her son, Kaleb Isiah James Rogers. He was born Jan. 29, 2014 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. He weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces and was 18 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Mary Kaye Hale of Tell City and John L. Rogers of Huntingburg.

    Great-grandparents are Luther Hale of Tell City and the late Maggie Hale.

  • Nicole Kerstiens and Wesley Sitzman were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Sept. 28, 2013, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.

    The bride is the daughter of Debbie Kerstiens of Ferdinand and the late Pat Kerstiens. David and Laura Sitzman, of Bristow and Jacquelyn and Curtis Knieriem, of Branchville, are parents of the groom.

    The bride was given in marriage by her mother in the double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Jack Durchholz.

  • John and Cynthia Yaggi of Lafayette announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Paige Yaggi of Tell City, to Jarrett Dean Ransom of Tell City.

    Mr. Ransom is the son of Jim and Ruth Ransom of St. Croix. The wedding is planned for March 15, 2014, at Cannelton United Methodist Church with a reception to follow. Formal invitations will be sent.

    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Cannelton High School and Daymar College and holds an associate of science degree.

  • Scott and Toni Wenzel of Tobinsport announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Wenzel of Evansville, to Andy Wagner of Evansville.

    Mr. Wagner is the son of Brenda Beck and Michael Wagner of Evansville.
    The wedding is planned for Feb. 22, 2014 at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center in Evansville with a reception to follow.

    The bride-to-be is a 2010 graduate of Perry Central High School and a 2012 graduate of Harrison College in Evansville. She is a registered veterinary technician at Warrick Veterinary Clinic in Boonville.

  • Rene and Ernest (Sam) Trinkel of Tell City and Timothy and Patricia Wheatley of  Hawesville, Ky., announce the engagement of their daughter, Myra Wheatley of Hawesville to Eric Harris of Cannelton. Eric is the son of Lisa and Jerry Harris of Cannelton.

    The wedding is planned for March 1, 2014, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. A reception will be held at the Tell City Schergens Center. Formal invitations have been sent.

  • Holli Taylor of Odon and Stephen Dawson of Tell City announce their engagement.

    Taylor is the daughter of Jada Taylor of Odon and Darrell Taylor of Evansville. Dawson is the son of Doug and Janice Little of Tell City. The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Feb. 16, 2014, at The Depot in Tell City. A reception will follow. Formal invitations will be issued.

  • Saint Meinrad Archabbey accepts state land-conservation award
    SPENCER COUNTY – The Rev. Guy Mansini OSB, a member of the Benedictine community of  Saint Meinrad Archabbey, traveled to Indianapolis Jan. 7 to accept a Friend of Conservation Award from the Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.  

  • Tara Lynn Gebhard and Jack Henry Briggeman were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony Sept. 14, 2013, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.

    The bride is the daughter of Bill and Vicki Gebhard of Tell City.

    Mr. Briggeman is the son of Harry and Kim Hawkins of Tell City.

    The bride was given away by her father in the ceremony officiated by The Rev. Dennis Duvelius.

  • Richard and Paula Demuth of Ferdinand announce the engagement of their daughter, Stacy Demuth of Ferdinand, to Jarrod Rasche of Birdseye. Rasche is the son of Lester and Ruth Ann Rasche of Ferdinand.

    The wedding is planned for 1 p.m. Feb. 22, 2014 at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. A reception will be held at Ferdinand Community Center.

    The bride-to-be attended Forest Park High School and Vincennes University, Jasper Campus. She is employed at Rahman Law Office and Tin Lizzies Home Decor and Gifts.

  • Dana Davis and Brent Kellems were united in marriage during a double-ring ceremony Oct. 12, 2013, at the couple’s home in Old Hickory, Tenn.

    The bride is the daughter of the late Hugh and Judith Davis. The groom is the son of Tom and Wilma Kellems of Cannelton.

    Denise Collins of Jacksonville, Fla., sister to the bride, was chosen as matron of honor.

    Tom Kellems of Tell City, brother of the groom, served as best man.
    Bethany Bowan and Maggie Shuff, friends of the bride, were flower girls.
