  • BEDFORD – Becky Sprinkle of Bedford will be honored at this year’s Williams Rotary Scholarship Toast on April 14.

    Becky is the daughter of Bob and Rosana Gibson of Branchville and the wife of Steve Sprinkle of Bedford. She has been a guidance counselor at North Lawrence High School since 1975.

    Several family members plan on attending the Toast which will be held on Thursday, April 14, at the First Baptist Christian Church Center in Bedford. Doors to the event will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30.

  • ST. MEINRAD ­– Organist Richard Spotts will present a free concert on Sunday, April 17, at 3 p.m. Central time at Saint Meinrad Archabbey Church, St. Meinrad.

    The program will feature works of the French composer Charles Tournemire (1870-1939) for the Easter season.

    Spotts, a native of Bucks County, Pa., and a graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, has set out to perform and educate the public of Tournemire’s seminal work, with the ultimate goal of performing the complete 15-hour cycle in a recital series over 10 days.

  • Debra Emerson of Tell City has been awarded the prestigious Hoosier Women Artists award by Indiana State Treasurer Kelly Mitchell. Debra, her daughter, Erin, and her assistant, Jessica Schulthise, attended the reception at the Indiana State House, where the awards were presented. This year’s contest had 205 entries, with 28 women making the cut, and receiving awards.

  • Emily Dauby and Clint George of Findlay, Ohio, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

    Parents of the bride-to-be are Latisha Dauby of Jeffersonville and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Dauby of Evansville.

    Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Scott George of Derby.

    The wedding will be held April 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Songs Catholic Church in French Lick. A reception will follow at 5 p.m. at Wilstem Ranch in French Lick.

  • Little Pigeon Baptist gospel sing April 9

     

    CHRISNEY – Little Pigeon Baptist Church will hold a gospel sing April 9. The guest singers will be the Judith Montgomery Family.

    Guests are asked to take a covered dish. The meal will begin at 6 p.m. and singing will begin at 7 p.m. All are welcome. 

     

    St. Paul craft event set for April 2

     

  • TELL CITY – On March 6, 2016, the Lafayette Spring Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their annual spring tea at St. Paul Parish Hall to honor American history essay winners, the Christopher Columbus essay winner and present the Good Citizen Senior award which honors a senior at each Perry County high school.
