  • Jim and Chelsea McCallister of Tell City announce the birth of a son, Kooper Harold McCallister.

    He was delivered at 9:24 a.m. Jan 5, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital for Women and Children.

    He weighed 8 pounds, 2.8 ounces and was 20¼ inches long.

    The mother is the former Chelsea Schaaf.

    Kooper was welcomed home by a brother, Wyatt, 5, and a half sister, Lily, 10.

    Maternal grandparents are Gary and Cathy Greubel of Tell City, Paula Schaaf of Evansville and the late Jerry Schaaf.

  • Brandon and Courtney Sabelhaus of Leopold announce the birth of their son, Kason Lee Sabelhaus.

    Kason was born at 8:03 a.m. Aug. 21, 2015, at The Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Mrs. Sabelhaus is the former Courtney Briggeman.

    Kason was welcomed home by his brother, Levi, 2.

    Grandparents are Dave and Kathy Briggeman of Tell City and David and Diane Sabelhaus of Bristow.

  • Alleisha Wheatley of Tell City and Randy Miller of Ireland announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

    The future bride is the daughter of Allen and Lisa Wheatley of Tell City. She is a 2007 graduate of Perry Central High School and graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with a degree in early childhood education. She is employed at the Jasper Group.

  • New exhibit opens in archabbey library

     

    ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery is hosting an exhibit of works on paper titled “Close to Home.”

    Three artists from the New Harmony area will be exhibiting their work in the gallery.

    Friends for years, they create art that is very different, not only in the choice of medium but in how they see and interpret the world around them.

  • Jackie A. Schaefer-Mattingly of Santa Claus became the bride of Steven L. Mehling of St. Henry July 18, 2015. 

    The ceremony was held at 2 p.m. CDT at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry. Father Damian Schmelz, friend of the couple, officiated the wedding.

    Jackie is the daughter of Pauline Schaefer of St. Meinrad and the late Harold Schaefer.  Steve is the son of Eugene and Imelda Mehling of Ferdinand.

  • Mr. and Mrs. William Barnhart of Tell City recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

    A celebration was held June 27, at the Habig Center in Jasper, hosted by the Barnharts’ four children, Priscilla (Richard) Campbell of Newburgh; Libby (Lee) Gengelbach and Peggy Hodskins, both of Tell City; and Doug Barnhart of Cabot, Ark.

    Bill and Wilma Barnhart were married Sept. 3, 1950, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.  Mrs. Barnhart is the former Wilma Heim.

  • Trinity United Church of Christ ice cream socialAug. 30

     

    FULDA – The Trinity United Church of Christ, one mile south of Fulda, will have an ice cream social and homecoming from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30.

    There will be a light dinner, homemade ice cream and live music.

  • Olivia Renae Hurst and Bradley Dale Lautner of Tell City, announce the birth of a daughter, Winter Marie Jean Lautner.

    Winter was born Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care in Jasper, weighing 7 pounds and measuring 20 inches.

    Grandparents are Billie and Jimmy Hargis, of Dale, Joe Hurst and Lori Lyons of Dale, Mary Ann Lautner of Ferdinand and Dale Lautner of Tell City.
