  • ... was the instruction emblazoned across T-shirts of the 81 participants of a 4-H color run by the same name Sunday at Tell City’s Sunset Park.

    Another 20 volunteers were also involved, and among them were members of 4-H Junior Leaders who worked to comply with the instruction by throwing colored powder.

    Admission to the two-mile walk-run event cost a canned-food or cash donation. Cathy Boerste, Purdue extension director and 4-H youth development educator, said four big boxes of food and $61 were collected.

  • Oakwood Health Campus has started a choir that will meet weekly. Above, the group practices for a performance at Oakwood’s volunteer recognition to be held April 23 for all community volunteers.   • The following TCJSHS students were chosen as the February students of the month. Pictured from left to right are Madison Mathena, Jessie Wheatley, Derrian Zabel, and Travis Brinksneader. The students were nominated and chosen by teachers. They received T-shirts, breakfast at Julie's Tell Street Café and a $10 Walmart gift card as part of the recognition.
     

  • LEOPOLD –  Perry Central Elementary uses the Acuity test to assess students’ strengths and weaknesses in grade- level standards to help teachers guide classroom and individualized instruction.  

    Recently, the Captains Club hosted a pizza party to honor students who either raised their Acuity scores or maintained a high level of performance on Acuity tests or standards-based grading topics during the school’s third quarter.

  • TELL CITY – Tell City Junior Senior High School will hold its annual honors program for students in grades seven through 12 beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in the school auditorium.

    TELL CITY – Emmanuel Lutheran Church will hold  a  Maundy Thursday service, April 17 and a Good Friday service April 18. Both services begin at 6:30 p.m.

  • William and Jennifer Patrick of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Lillian Rose.

    She was delivered March 25, 2014, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. Lillian weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20½ inches long.

    Mrs. Patrick is the former Jennifer Hess. Lillian has a sister, Alyssa, 4.
    Maternal grandparents are Don and Lynda Hess of Derby.

    Paternal grandparents are Avis Patrick of Tell City and the late Gary Patrick.

  • Jacqulyn Malone and Josh Robbins of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Alexis Paige.

    She was delivered April 2, 2014, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. The infant weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 18 inches long.

    Alexis has a sister, Jennifer Malone, and three brothers, Brandon, Ryan and Wyatt Robbins.

    Maternal grandparents are Robert and Lucinda Malone of Tell City.
    Paternal grandparents are Sheila Masterson of Tell City and the late Donnie Robbins.

  • Nicholas and Denise Bartlett of Tell City announce the birth of their sons, Jess Ryan and Jameson Michael.

    The twins were delivered at 5:36 p.m. March 7, 2014, at Deaconess Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.

    Jess weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 18½ inches long. Jameson was 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 18 inches long.

    Mrs. Bartlett is the former Denise Terry. Jess and Jameson have a sister, Josie, 2.

    Maternal grandparents are Michael and Judy Terry of Tell City. Paternal grandparents are Morris and Sheila Bartlett of Santa Claus.
