  • WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ryan Waninger of St. Meinrad, Brynnan Underhill of English and Luke Hilgenhold and Olivia Gogel both of Tell City represented Southern Indiana Power in the 2015 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.

    The high school seniors-to-be gained a personal understanding of American history, their role as a citizen and insight to the important roles electric cooperatives play in their community. Indiana’s electric cooperatives have been providing this opportunity since 1960.

  • BRISTOW – Descendants of Clarence and Elizabeth Wheeler held a family reunion Saturday, June 27, at St. Isidore Hall in Bristow.

  • LEOPOLD – Perry Central High School football players will conduct a lift-a-thon to raise money for equipment Monday, July 6 and Wednesday, July 8. 

    Players are asking for donations of 1 cent per pound lifted.

    Anybody wishing to contribute should contact a football player in grades 9-12 or one of the coaches. 

    All players grades 9-12 should report to weight room at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 6.

  • TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital offers free blood pressure and glucose (sugar) screenings every Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 10 a.m. inside the Tell City Wal-Mart. This free community service will also be offered by PCMH’s Home Health Department from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at Twilight Towers.

  • Mulzer family reunion Sunday

     

    EVANSTON – The descendants of Wolfgang Mulzer will gather for a reunion Sunday, July 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Evanston.

    A carry-in dinner will be held at noon. Meat and drinks will be provided. Each family is asked to take a covered dish. A free-will offering will help pay for expenses.

  • BRISTOW – The Bristow High School alumni reunion will be held Sunday, July 5, at the Bristow Community Center. All former high school students are encouraged to attend. A catered meal will be served at noon. Those wishing to attend for the meal are asked to call for reservations.   • TELL CITY – The Miss Schweizer Fest Pageant will be held Monday, Aug. 3, at Community Christian Church in Tell City.

    Younger divisions will begin at 6 p.m. and competitions for older divisions will begin at 7 p.m.

  • PERRY COUNTY – Interested in becoming Miss Perry County 2015 or Junior Miss Perry County 2015?

    Any young woman age 15-21 can apply. This is the first year that it is open to the public. Contestants must reside in or have an immediate relative that resides in Perry County.

    Any young woman, who previously ran for Miss Perry County 4-H Fair but did not receive the queen title and is within the age range, is also eligible to apply.
