  • Optimist blanket drive starts Nov. 19

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Optimist Club will conduct its annual blanket drive from Nov. 19 to Dec. 17.
    Items accepted will be any size blanket or throw.
    Drop off locations will be set up at Old National Bank, Fifth Third Bank, German American banks and the Evangelical United Church of Christ and St. Paul Catholic Church.

    Noodles sale Saturday
    TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist Church, at 10th and Mozart streets, will host a noodle sale from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
    Bags of homemade noodles will be $3 each.

  • 40 & 8 plans bingo benefit

    TELL CITY — Tell City American Legion Post 213’s Forty and Eight veterans organization will raise money for nurses in training through bingo games beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13
    The event will be held at the Legion and jackpots will include hams and turkeys. Players must be 18 years or older.
    All proceeds will go to nurses training.

  • Humane Society meeting, elections Tuesday

    TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City.
    Election of officers will also be held. For more information, contact Jim Carter at 836-4138.
    The Humane Society will also give away free straw for doghouses from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 12 at Orcheln’s Farm and Home Supply Store in Tell City.

  • Glenn’s Cleaning Service reopening set

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting for the Glenn’s Cleaning Service at noon Tuesday to celebrate their new location. Glenn’s Cleaning Service is located at 907 Jefferson St. in Tell City.  They opened July 1, 2007.
    Owners of Glenn’s Cleaning Service are Isiah (Ike) and Michelle Glenn. They offer commercial and industrial cleaning services along with specialty floor care. Contact Ike for a quote to clean your business.

  • Annual Bristow deer dinner set for Nov. 12

    BRISTOW – The annual deer dinner at Bristow United Pentecostal Church, 20843 State Road 145, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 12 in the church’s fellowship building.
    The menu will include fried chicken, turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, egg noodles, vegetables, desserts, tea, coffee and lemonade. Cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 years and younger.

  • St. Meinrad to host first local band jam

    ST. MEINRAD – Inkspot Productions will present the first St. Meinrad Rocks band jam from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at the St. Meinrad Community Center.
    Those performing will include Travis Dillon, Silly Rules, Beau Troesch, Naked, The Hiding, Ronnie Troesch, Final Tour and 5th Degree Burn.
    Concessions will be available at the event and those attending are invited to take their snacks as well.
    Event T-shirts will be sold as well as merchandise from the individual bands.
    Cost is $10 per person and there will be no age requirements.
