  • History of ragtime performance in City Hall Park June 5

    TELL CITY - The Perry County Public Library will present pianist and composer Deborrah Wyndham for an evening of ragtime music. The concert will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at the gazebo in City Hall Park. The event is free and open to the public. No concessions will be sold, but guests are welcome to take a picnic and lawn chairs. No alcohol is allowed.


    Tractor Club to meet today
    BRANCHVILLE - The Ohio Valley Tractor Club will meet Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m. at the Branchville Conservation Club.

    Yoga in the Park Saturday
    TELL CITY - EverBody's Fun and Fitness Center will hold Yoga in the Park at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31 at Sunset Park. Instructor Jennifer Land will lead the class.

  • Relay For Life luminaria ceremony to honor, remember loved ones

    TELL CITY – Relay For Life of Perry County will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Perry Central High School track with opening ceremonies and the survivor and caregiver lap.  

    The day will continue with activities, games, a silent auction and themed laps.

    At 9 p.m. the luminaria ceremony will begin to honor those who have fought cancer and remember those who have been taken by cancer.  
    The closing ceremonies will begin at 5:30 a.m. June 15, with the final lap at 6 a.m.

    Tractor Club to meet May 29
    BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Club will meet Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m. at the Branchville Conservation Club.

    St. Paul TGIF set for May 30
    TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church will host TGIF, formerly known as “Beer Brats, Burgers and Band,” Friday, May 30 from 7 to 11 p.m. in the church parking lot.

    Entertainment will be provided by St. Anthony area band, The Recycled Teenagers.

  • Blessing of the animals to be held June 1

    TELL CITY – Evangelical United Church of Christ at 802 10th Street in Tell City will host a blessing of the animals at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 1, on the grounds of the church.  

    All area residents are welcome to take domestic animals to this event.
    The Rev. J.T. Hills will briefly speak and then will bless all animals in attendance.  

    Refreshments will be provided for humans and animals.

  • Bristow United Pentecostal Church homecoming set for June 8

    BRISTOW – United Pentecostal Church in Bristow will host its 61st homecoming and 21st pastoral anniversary Sunday, June 8.

    Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a potluck dinner served at 11:45 a.m. A service and special singing will follow.

    Jerry Hutchinson of Kinder, La., will be the guest speaker.

    THE WILLIAM TELL CENTER will host its weekly dance at 7 p.m. Saturday. Country Sunshine will perform a variety of music. Cost is $5 and includes drinks and snacks. Line dancing is held Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

    Baccalaureate service to honor seniors today

    TELL CITY – Friends and family of the Tell City Junior-Senior High School senior class are invited to attend a baccalaureate service led by pastors from the Tell City community. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22 in the high-school auditorium.

    LEOPOLD - A Perry Central Football Families meeting will be held at 6 p.m. today in the high-school study-hall room.

    Bingo at Legion today
    CANNELTON - In addition to its regular Friday-night bingo, the Legion will host bingo starting at 6 p.m. today.
    William Tell Center karaoke night May 23

    TELL CITY - The William Tell Center will host a karaoke night from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 23 at the center.

  • Colors of Hope 5K June 7

    TELL CITY - Colors of Hope, a 5K run-walk sponsored by New Directions Health and Fitness Club, will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 7.

    The race will begin and end at New Directions. Registration fees are $20 and forms are available at the club or online at www.newdirectionsfitness.com. Make checks payable to the club and mail or drop off forms at New Directions Health and Fitness Club, 632 Main St., Tell City, IN 47586.
