  • Rome VFD meeting April 3

    ROME – The Rome Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 26th annual meeting April 3, at 7 p.m. at the Rome Courthouse. There will be an election for three of the five directors.

    Nominations will be taken from the floor. Betty and Robert Whitehead have served as directors of the fire department for many years and will be retiring. Dues for 2017 may be paid at the annual meeting. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.

  • Community Events; March 20

    VFW serving breakfast Saturday

     

    TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars 2939 will host a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at the post home.

    Scrambled eggs will be served or diners can get eggs made to order. Cost is $7, which includes tax.

    Carryout meals will be available. The public is invited.

  • Raised bed, container gardening workshop March 28

    TELL CITY – Purdue Extension Perry County has a few questions to ask.

    Don’t think you have a green thumb but want to try out gardening? Have limited space to garden? Love to garden but have difficulty kneeling and bending down? Purdue Extension has answers.

    A raised bed and container gardening workshop is planned for 6 p.m. March 28 at the Perry County Extension Office at 65 Park Ave. in Tell City.

    BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will hold its next meeting March 23, at 7 p.m. at the Branchville Clubhouse.

    Serving will start at 5 p.m. The meal will include chili, hotdog, chips, cookies, and a drink. There will also be a country store.

  • Tell City actors on stage March 17-19 with ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’

    TELL CITY – On March 17-19, the Tell City High School Drama Club will put on a production of “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” Showtimes are 7 p.m. on March 17 and 18, and 2 p.m. on March 19. Tickets will be available at the door for $5

  • Spring Break Maker Day Camp set for March 27

    TELL CITY – A fun, interactive day camp is offered for youth in grades 3-6 on March 27.

    This is a great way to have fun and learn with tech toys while on Spring Break. Youth are invited to join Kreative Korner Maker Day Camp on Monday, March 27, where they will learn and experiment with new and exciting technology without having to buy expensive equipment.

  • Anderson Township Fire annual meeting Monday

    BRISTOW – The 68th annual meeting of the Anderson Township Fire Department Inc. will be Monday, March 6, at the Bristow Community Center. The business meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and will include election of Directors 1, 6, 7 and 8. The program for the evening will include an presentation by Phil Schuetter, Conservation Officer.

    The $40 membership dues can be paid at the meeting.

  • Cancer benefit for Barbara Fulton March 18

    TELL CITY – There will be a Cancer Benefit for Barbara Fulton held Saturday, March 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Moose Home in Tell City.

    There will be music by Cannelcade of Music, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, a silent auction and food served.

    Fried chicken dinners will be presold for the benefit until Thursday, March 9. Each dinner will consist of two pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and slaw for $8.
