    THE TELL CITY CLASS OF 1966 GAL PAL lunch will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 11, at The Patio restaurant in Tell City. (Editor’s Note: The meeting date is incorrect in the Sept. 4 print edition. The error has been corrected for the online edition.)

    THE WOMENS GUILD OF THE EVANGELICAL United Church of Christ will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11. Everyone is encouraged to attend. Pizza and dessert will be served following the meeting.

  • October fall tour plans in place

    PERRY COUNTY – While it’s still the first week of September, activities and sites for next month’s Perry County Hoosier Heritage Fall Tour are in place.

    Events include Rome Courthouse Day Oct. 5 in Rome, an open house at the Rickenbaugh House on Celina Lake Oct. 11 and Cannelton’s Heritage Festival Oct. 11.

    Bristow’s big car show is set for Oct. 12 and there will be an open house Oct. 18-19 at the Shubael Little Pioneer Village.

    This year’s Route 66 Yard Sales are set for Oct. 17-18.

  • Hawesville Baptist Church to host open house Sept. 13

    HAWESVILLE, Ky. – Hawesville Baptist Church will host an open house for its new family life center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. A grand-opening celebration is set for 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 14. Watch for a story in next week’s News.

    BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Club will meet at 7 p.m. today at Branchville Conservation Club.

    Memorial forest annual meeting today

    FULDA – The Spencer County Memorial Forest annual meeting will begin at 6 p.m. today.

    Meat, drinks and dinnerware will be provided and members are asked to take a covered dish.

    Heritage Handcrafts Association to meet Tuesday

    STENDAL – The Heritage Handcrafts Association will meet to plan for participation in The Winslow Lions Light Festival Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m. EDT.

    Kidney Smart class today
    TELL CITY – There will be a free Kidney Smart Education class today from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Fifth Third Bank in the community room in Tell City.

    The class is open to anyone who has been diagnosed with kidney disease. Family members are also encouraged to attend.

  • Benefits for Dakota Boeglin Sept. 13 and 20

    TELL CITY – Southern Indiana Biker Buds will host benefits for Dakota Boeglin Saturdays, Sept. 13 and 20.

    Dakota, 2, was diagnosed with hairy congenital nevi, which must be surgically removed due to a risk of cancer. Dakota’s family anticipates a minimum of 16 additional surgeries.

    Class of ‘74 reunion Oct. 11

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Class of 1974 will hold a reunion beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Iron Gate restaurant in Cannelton.

    Batson family reunion planned for Sunday, Aug. 31

    TELL CITY – The 88th annual Capt. Andrew Peter Batson family reunion will take place Sunday, Aug. 31, at St. Mark Parish Hall.

    SANDY DAVIS hosted a monthly bunco get-together Monday evening. Winners were Jeannie Walker, Hazel Davis, Sandy Davis and Joyce Dauby. The next time everyone will meet again will be Monday, Sept. 29, with Joyce Dauby as hostess.

    PCMH AUXILIARY BOARD will meet at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5 in Conference Room C at the hospital.
