  • Cornerstone school soup supper Saturday

    CANNELTON – Cornerstone Christian School will hold its annual all-you-can-eat soup supper Saturday, Feb. 25, at Freewill Baptist Church, located at 117 South Second St., Cannelton. Offerings will include chili, veggie soup, potato soup, bean soup, cornbread, crackers, dessert and a drink all for just $8 per adult, $4 for children four years old to 10 years old, and under 4 is free. Serving will begin at 4 p.m. and go until 7.

  • Ladies Lenten coffees to begin March 4

    PERRY COUNTY – The Ladies Lenten Prayer Coffees will be held according to the following schedule.  All women and girls are invited to attend. There will be an offering taken at each session. At the final session, the group will decide which local charity will receive the offering. There will be light breakfast and a program at each session.

    All sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

  • ‘Beauty and the Beast’ coming to library

    CANNELTON – For those who would like to revisit the original Beauty and the Beast movie in anticipation of the live-action remake, join patrons and staff of Perry County Public Library – Cannelton Branch Monday, March 20, for viewings of the Disney animated version of Beauty and the Beast, movie-themed crafts and fun-maker activities.

    Movie showings will start at approximately 1, 2:30 and 4 p.m. in the meeting room. Feel free to watch the whole movie or just long enough to get a quick snack.

  • Amphitheatre seeking volunteers for 2017 performances

    LINCOLN CITY – The Lincoln Amphitheatre is seeking volunteers for its 2017 performance series.

    Roles and responsibilities could vary from show to show, but primary areas the venue needs assistance are as ticket scanners, ushers, and concession workers.

    For their efforts, selected volunteers will receive a Lincoln Amphitheatre staff shirt, as well as free and discounted ticketing opportunities to all 2017 performances.

    Euchre tourney Feb. 25

     

    FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney at the club, in Fulda, on Saturday, Feb. 25. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with play beginning at 7. Prizes will be awarded at the end of play and refreshments will be available.

    The public is invited to attend.

  • Lincoln Amphitheatre to rock, roll & hum

    INDIANAPOLIS – Fresh off of a 2016 season that was one of the best attended in the venue’s 30-year history, the Lincoln Amphitheatre has announced a 2017 performance series that will feature classic rockers Grand Funk Railroad, award-winning country singer-songwriter Lee Ann Womack (five Academy of Country Music Awards, six Country Music Association Awards, one Grammy), as well as an evening with 60’s rock legend Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.

    JASPER – In what could be one of the final events at the historic Astra Theatre before it shuts down for a major face lift, nationally-touring artists The Way Down Wanderers will bring their unique harmony-laced brand of Americana, folk, and bluegrass to the Jim and Pat Thyen Performance Stage on Saturday, March 18.

    The box office will open at 5:30 p.m., doors at 6 p.m., opening act (to be announced later) at 7 p.m., and The Way Down Wanderers will take the stage at 8 p.m.

    Coon Club to host B & G Furs Saturday

     

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Coon Club will host B & G Furs at the club on Feb. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon or until the last customer is finished. Everyone is welcome.

    Free kidney education course set for Feb. 2

     

    TELL CITY – There will be a Free Kidney Smart Education class on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Tell City Dialysis Center, 1602 Main St.

    The class is free and open to anyone that’s been diagnosed with kidney disease and family members are encouraged to attend with patient’s also.
