    TELL CITY – For the third year in a row, the annual Schweizer Fest Kaffee Klatch is being held on a Thursday morning, as opposed to the traditional Wednesday on kick-off event.

    Individuals attending the 43rd annual event will have the opportunity to enjoy a hearty breakfast of traditional fare along with festival favorites. The event will be held in Evangelical United Church of Christ’s Fellowship Hall, 802 10th St., Tell City, from 7 to 10 a.m. Aug. 10.

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Fire Department will serve chicken dinners at the fire station at 12th and Mozart streets, Sunday, July 23. Serving will begin at 10:30 a.m. Dinners will include a half-chicken, creek fries and green beans.

    Perry County Marines Detachment 1398 will sponsor a tribute inside City Hall during Schweizer Fest to the men and women who have died in the nation’s war on terror.

    Remember Our Fallen is a photographic war memorial created to remember our country’s military fallen who have died in the war on terror. Because Sept. 11, 2001, was such a defining moment for so many Americans, this memorial includes our country’s fallen since that tragic day in our nation’s history.

    TELL CITY – Registration for this summer’s Schweizer Fest Talent Show are now available at the Chamber of Commerce office at 601 Main St., in the lobby at German American Bank in downtown Tell City, at Conner Floor Covering at 12th and Tell streets or by calling Sharilyn Franzman at (812)719-3017.

    The Rules and Registration Form can also be found at www.tellcityschweizerfest.org. The Talent Show will take place on Musik Halle stage in City Hall Park on Thursday, Aug. 10, beginning at 6 p.m.

  • Led Zeppelin tribute band to grace Lincoln Amphitheatre stage in July

    LINCOLN CITY – Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience will perform at Lincoln Amphitheatre Saturday, July 22, with supporting act Eighty Sixt.

    The all-ages event will begin at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5 p.m.

    Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience formed in 1995 to perform the most accurate and captivating Led Zeppelin live show since, well, the real thing. For Zoso, it’s much more than just being a tribute. It’s about touching a golden era in music.

  • ‘Young Abe Lincoln’ continues on stage

    LINCOLN CITY – Two score years ago, the Lincoln Club of Southern Indiana organized the Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association with the aim of telling the story of Indiana’s most famous resident through the medium of outdoor drama.

    After a decade of dedicated labor on the part of local volunteers, the state allocated $3.2 million through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to build an amphitheatre in Lincoln State Park, which was completed in 1987.

  • RSVP group’s ice cream social July 28

    TELL CITY – Lincoln Hills Development Corp’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is hosting its annual Ice Cream Social on Friday, July 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Evangelical United Church of Christ, 802 10th St. in Tell City. The event will feature food, fun, bingo and prizes.

    All RSVP volunteers are invited to attend, as well as, anyone age 55 and older who would like to learn more about RSVP.
