    JFK Pool holiday hours
    TELL CITY – Due to the Fourth of July holiday Wednesday, the JFK Pool in Tell City will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • PCMH Auxiliary Gently Used sale July 11

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a “Gently Used” sale featuring books, jewelry and handbags.
    The sale will kick off at 7 a.m. July 11 and end at 4 p.m. Paperback books will be 50 cents each and hardbacks will be $1. Jewelry and handbags will be individually priced.

    TCHS 1967
    TELL CITY – The Tell City High School Class of 1967 will celebrate its 45-year reunion Aug. 11 at the Hoosier Heights County Club.
    The reunion committee has not been able to locate the following classmates: Susan Adams, Boise Macon, Rosemary Anderson, Eugene Marcilliat, Don Appel, Phyllis Masterson, Stan Backer, Sherri McLain, Judy Bateman, Sharon Niven, Roger Bess, Theresa Palm, Dennis Fulkerson, Linda Probus, Jerry Gray, Bill Sandage, Faye Harlen, Evelyn Scott, Nina Kreisle, Dean Thompson, Maurice Little and Vicki Trent.

    Go-cart race at Branchville
    BRANCHVILLE – The Branchville Conservation Club will host a go-cart race at 5 p.m. Saturday.
    The public is invited to attend. For more information, call 843-4878 or 843-5885.

  • Animal shelter offers TNR program to residents

    PERRY COUNTY – County residents are asked to help the Perry County Animal Shelter in controlling stray cats in the area with a trap, neuter and release program.
    The program is for stray cats only. Residents who are willing to capture a stray may take it to the shelter at 200 Herzeele St. in Cannelton between 5:30 and 6 a.m. July 16.
    For $30 per cat, a service from Vanderburgh County will have the cats spayed or neutered.
    Cats will be ready for pickup at 10 a.m. July 17 and then released where they were caught.

  • Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club fun horse show June 30

    TELL CITY – Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host a fun horse show at 5 p.m. June 30 at the clubhouse, 9455 Summer Road, north of Tell City. Follow the signs approximately 5 miles north on Indiana 37. 
    There will be games for all ages, providing fun for all participants and spectators. There is some bleacher seating available but lawn chairs are recommended.
    The show is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., however it may be delayed if there is extreme heat that afternoon.

    TELL CITY – The Tell City High School Class of 1972 is planning its 40-year reunion. Addresses are needed for the following classmates: Kay LaGrange, Debbie Davis, Ronnie Dyer, Patty Miller and Matt Brakora.

  • Oakwood kicks off annual food drive

    TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus, a Trilogy Health Services Community and a Tell City provider of senior health and living services, has officially kicked off their annual company-wide “Independence from Hunger” food drive.
    The campus’ business office will collect nonperishable food items and monetary donations from now until July 3. All proceeds will benefit Perry County Food Coalition.

  • Contestants sought for Schweizer Fest Pageant

    TELL CITY – A follow-up meeting for this year’s Schweizer Fest pageant will begin at 6 p.m. today at the Evangelical United Church of Christ.
    Applications for contestants can be picked up at Cinderella’s, 922 Main Street in Tell City.
    Age groups are as follows: Princess, 9 to 11 year olds; Junior Miss, 12 to 15 years old; Teen, 16 to 19 year olds and Miss, 20 to 22 years old. The pageant is open to all Perry and Spencer county, and Hancock County, Ky., girls.
