  • Coin Show Sept. 22

    TELL CITY – The River Cities Coin Club will host its seventh annual fall coin show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 22 at Perry County 4-H Center in Tell City.
    The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Admission is free and free parking will be provided. Door prizes will also be drawn. Up to 30 coin and paper money dealers from Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee are expected to attend. For more information, call Kevin L.   • Grandview Fall Fest Sept. 14-15

    GRANDVIEW – The annual Grandview Fall Festival will be held Sept. 14 – 15 through out the town.
    The fest will kick off with the fall fest pageant at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Grandview CIvic Center. Categories are Junior Miss, 9 to 12 years old; Teen Miss, 13 to 15 years old and Miss, 16 to 18 years old. For more information, contact Lisa Oliver at (812) 686-7500.

    South Spencer schools
    ROCKPORT – The alumni of South Spencer Schools will hold a meeting at 1 p.m. today at the Spencer County Library in Rockport.
    All graduates from Grandview, Luce Township, Rockport and South Spencer high schools are welcome to attend.

    Rust
    ROCKPORT – The Rust family will gather for a reunion Sept. 15 at the Oakridge Community building in Rockport.
    A meal will begin at 4:30 p.m. Those attending are asked to take a covered dish.

  • Free health fair Sept. 13 in Rockport

    ROCKPORT – Miller’s Merry Manor and Trinity United Methodist Church will host a free health fair Sept. 13. This is in conjunction with the Trinity United Methodist Church salad luncheon at the church.
    The health fair is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the luncheon is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be vendor freebies and door prizes.

  • Benefit for Tyler Lang set for Sept. 29

    BIRDSEYE – A benefit to raise funds for Tyler Lang will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Birdseye Conservation Club.
    Lang is the son of Jenny and Billy Lang and the grandson of Donna Lang of Tell City. He was injured in an auto accident March 30, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.
    Chili and hot dogs will be served. A bake sale and silent auction will also be held during the event and T-shirts will be available for purchase.

  • ECA annual hog roast

    EVANSTON – The Evanston Civic Association will presents its annual hog roast Sept. 15.
    The day’s events will kick off at 9 a.m. with a co-ed softball tourney.
    The beer garden will open at 10 a.m. and customers can get in the food lines at 11 a.m. Schaeffer’s Special Occasions will provide music from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    A kiddies tractor pull will kick off at noon and a bring-your-partner cornhole tourney will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Willy Loper will showcase his chainsaw art from 2 to 6 p.m., followed by a raffle drawing at 6.

    ST. MARK – The 86th annual Captain Andrew Peter Batson family reunion will be held Sunday at St. Mark Catholic Church Parish Hall.
    A meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. and everyone attending is asked to take a covered dish and drinks. Paper goods will be supplied. The meal will be followed by a family meeting.
    Family members are also asked to take genealogy information and photos to share.
