  • Rome to host flea market Saturday

    ROME – The Rome Community Center will begin to host flea markets through summer and fall months this year. The first market will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
    Everyone is welcome and vendors may include new and used items, crafters, antiques, artists and produce. No food vendors will be accepted. Space is available for $10.
    Concessions will be available. Proceeds from the markets will benefit the Rome Community Center, which is the old Perry County Courthouse.

  • PCMH Auxiliary Gently Used sale Wednesday

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a “Gently Used” sale featuring books, jewelry and handbags.
    The sale will kick off at 7 a.m. Wednesday and end at 4 p.m. Paperback books will be 50 cents each and hardbacks will be $1. Jewelry and handbags will be individually priced.

  • Annual Lincoln Trail quilt show Aug. 10-11

    TELL CITY – The Lincoln Trail Quilt Guild will host its fourth annual quilt show Aug. 10 and 11 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall.

    The public may visit from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 10 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 11.
    Raffle tickets are available for a splitting image pattern quilt, quilted by the Women of the Lutheran Church. The winner of the raffle will be drawn after the quilt show Aug. 11.

  • Animal shelter TNR program date changed

    PERRY COUNTY – County residents are asked to help the Perry County Animal Shelter in controlling stray cats in the area with a trap, neuter and release program.
    The program is for stray cats only. Residents who are willing to capture a stray may take it to the shelter at 200 Herzeele St. in Cannelton between 5:30 and 6 a.m. July 25.
    For $30 per cat, a service from Vanderburgh County will have the cats spayed or neutered.
    Cats will be ready for pickup at 10 a.m. July 26 and then released where they were caught.

  • Reunions, July 5

    VanWinkle-Mills
    ST. MEINRAD – The VanWinkle-Mills Reunion will be held July 8 at the St. Meinrad Community Center.
    A carry in dinner will be served around 12:30 p.m. Table service and drinks will be furnished. 
    All families and friends are invited.  Help pass the information to all relatives.

    JFK Pool to be open Wednesday
    TELL CITY – Due to the Fourth of July holiday Wednesday, the JFK Pool in Tell City will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Free-movie series at Sunset Park starts in July

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Regional Arts Association will host a free-movie-night series titled “Movies at Sunset” each Thursday during July. 
    The movies will be shown at Sunset Park. The park will be closed to traffic for these evenings and parking will be available outside the floodwall.
    The TCRAA is not allow-ed to publicize the movie titles, per the licensing agreement.
