    Free health screenings at Twilight Towers

     

    TELL CITY – Spring has sprung, and it’s a perfect time to take charge of your health.

    The next Deaconess VNA Plus blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings are scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Twilight Towers in Tell City.

    Screenings will be conducted by a registered nurse and no pre-registration is necessary.

    Free health screenings by PCMH Tuesday

     

    TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital will offer free blood-pressure and glucose (sugar) screenings every Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 10 a.m. inside the Tell City Wal-Mart.

    Fasting for two hours is recommended, eight hours is preferred. You may drink water, black coffee and take your medications.

  • Cook-York reunion set for Sunday, June 14

    TELL CITY – The Cook-York family reunion will be held Sunday, June 14, at The Depot located at 333 Seventh Street in Tell City.

    Dinner will begin at noon and each family is asked to take a covered dish.

    Dinnerware will be furnished. There will also be an auction, so take treasured items.

    Everyone is welcome to take a friend.

    AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY UNIT 213 will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at the post home in Tell City.

    There will be an election of officers for the upcoming auxiliary year. President Charlotte Lindauer encourages all auxiliary and prospective members to attend.

     

     

    THE ST. MICHAEL CHURCH ST. ANN SOCIETY will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, May 18 (today), in Father Marendt Hall. There will be a business meeting, bingo and refreshments. Hostesses will be Lisa Poehlein, Debbie Peters, Jennifer Parker and Whitney Nugent.

     

  • Singer-songwriter Ron Ramsey Jr. and band in concert Friday

    TELL CITY – Singer-songwriter Ron Ramsey Jr. will take his Rock & Roll Circus to The Pour Haus beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, May 15.

    “We’ll play everything from Zeplin to Zac Brown, The Rolling Stones to Johnny Cash and Rod Stewart to the Kentucky Headhunters,” said Ramsey.

    Band members include area musicians Dennis Green and Larry Adkisson, both  of Rockport, and Dave Flick of Evansville.

    AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY UNIT 213 will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at the post home in Tell City. There will be an election of officers for the upcoming auxiliary year. President Charlotte Lindauer encourages all auxiliary and prospective members to attend.

     

    THE MU GAMMA CHAPTER of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 14 (today), at the home of Carolyn Craddock. A Ritual of Jewels will be held for new members Gayra Pate, Beth Jordan and Jennifer Paris. The membership committee will host the meeting.

    Trinity Church rummage, bake sale this weekend

     

    FULDA – Trinity Church, located one mile south of Fulda on Indiana 545, will have a rummage and bake sale beginning at 7 a.m. Friday, May 15, and from 7 a.m. until noon Saturday, May 16.

    Many quality items will be available.

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Public Library’s Tell City branch will host an upcoming program, “The Basics: Dementia, Memory Loss and Alzheimer’s Disease.”

    THE DAUGHTERS OF ISABELLA will host a mother-daughter-friend carry-in dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, in the St. Paul Catholic Church parish hall. The circle will furnish the meat and drinks and the committee for refreshments will be in charge of desserts. Committee members are Dorothy Steen, Carol Smith, Colleen Smith, Jean Schulthise and Mary Seibert.
