  • PCMH Auxiliary Holiday Bazaar Nov. 9

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host its annual holiday bazaar from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 9.

    There will also be a silent auction, where several nice items will be up for bid. There will be a minimum bid posted and a bid sheet posted with each item.

    The bazaar will include many handcrafted and baked goods for sale.

    PCMH Aux. Board to meet Friday


    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Board will have its monthly meeting on Friday, Nov. 3. It will be at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room at the hospital.


    Winter straw for animals available


    TELL CITY – Free straw for dog houses will be given away by the Humane Society of Perry County Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Orscheln’s’ Farm Store. Fore more information, call (812) 836-4842.

  • TC Fire Department to host Medicine Cabinet Clean-Out Day Saturday

    PERRY COUNTY –  The Perry County Substance Abuse Council, along with Tell City Police Department, Perry County Sheriff’s Department, Cannelton Police Department, Perry County Solid Waste Management District, Memorial Hospital and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, are sponsoring a Medicine Cabinet Clean-Out Day on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Tell City Volunteer Fire Department.

    Here are several good reasons why the community needs to recycle prescription medications.

  • Winter Storytime begins Nov. 13

    TELL CITY – Perry County Public Library winter storytimes will run Nov. 13 through Dec. 15, with programs at both the Tell City and Cannelton locations. Register for Storytime by calling the Tell City location at (812) 547-2661.  Storytime programs are as follows:

    Tuesday evenings, 6-7 p.m. – Tell City (3 years through 6 years)

    Wednesday mornings, 10 -10:30 a.m. – Tell City (birth through 2 years)

    Wednesday afternoons, 1- 2 p.m. –Cannelton (3 years through 6 years)

  • Toys for Tots campaign opens

    PERRY COUNTY – The 2017 Toys for Tots campaign has begun. New and unused Toy donations can be made to area drop off sites at local businesses.

    Monetary donations can be made by going to ToysforTots.org and selecting “Donate,” and follow the directions for donating to the local campaign.

  • Halloween Hill Challenge upcoming

    ROCKPORT – The Halloween Hill Challenge 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by St. Bernard Parish, will be held 9 a.m. Oct. 28. The event is a hilly 3.1-mile course that loops through the town of Rockport.

    The challenge will start and finish at the St. Bernard picnic grounds located near the corner of Sixth and Pearl Street. Runners will encounter Stocking’s Hill, the Ohio River, River Hill, Center Street, Sleepy Hollow and Walnut Street before returning to St. Bernard.

  • Spooktacular Events

    Zombie Walk Saturday


    TELL CITY – “Join the herd!” for the 2017 Zombie River Walk. An afternoon event, with registration starting at 5 p.m. Oct. 21 at Sunset Park, proceeds will benefit the Perry County Animal Shelter. The horde of zombies will terrorize the route from 6:30 on as walkers make their way to City Hall Park, where other outdoor activities will be held until 9 p.m.

  • Spencer County Fair plans action-packed Octoberfest Saturday

    GRANDVIEW – The Spencer County Fairgrounds in Grandview will welcome visitors from far and wide for the 13th annual Octoberfest, set for Oct. 21.

    The fairgrounds feature many amenities, including indoor restrooms and lighting fixtures, allowing festival-goers to welcome autumn well into the evening. Much of the day’s events will be styled on the theme of the coming Halloween holiday.

  • Halloween Thrills

    Scaryaoke Saturday at Cannelton Legion


    CANNELTON – Cannelton American Legion will host a “Scaryaoke” karaoke event on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the post home, located at 516 Knight St.

    The doors will open at 5 p.m. and there will be karaoke singing, dancing and nibbles from 6 to 10 p.m. Music will be provided by Cannelcade of Music. Snacks and treats will be provided but those attending should being their own drinks.

  • Catholic Charities’ ‘Taste & Share’ benefit Nov. 11

    TELL CITY – Join Catholic Charities for the second annual Taste & Share on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Schergens Center in Tell City.
