  • Local benefits

    Benefit for Randy Tanner Sunday
    TELL CITY – The family and friends of Randall “Randy” Tanner are planning a benefit dance from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club.
    This benefit is to raise funds to help his family cover the expenses the bills and expenses from Tanner’s illness.
    Lots of food and drinks will be available at the benefit dance. No alcohol will be permitted.

  • Bloody Ridge to offer scares starting Friday

    CANNELTON – Bloody Ridge Haunted Trail will return to the Perry County in October at Buddy’s Tire Shop, 6032 Scotch Pine Road in Cannelton.
    The trail will open Friday through Sunday, and will be open Oct. 19-21, Oct. 26 and 27, and Oct. 30 and 31. Admission is $5 and gates open at 6 p.m. each night. Concessions will be available.

  • Celebrate All Hallows’ Eve at the Santa Claus Museum and Village Saturday

    SANTA CLAUS – The Santa Claus Museum and Village will hold its first annual All Hallows’ Eve celebration from noon to 8 p.m.Saturday and Oct. 20. Admission is free and includes a variety of family-friendly events. Featured activities include a jack-o-lantern scavenger hunt, and pumpkin carving and decorating. Tours of the historic 1880 Santa Claus Church will be offered every hour, and special exhibits will be featured in the Santa Claus Museum throughout the day.

  • RSVP to hold volunteer recognition event Oct. 19

    PERRY COUNTY – The Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will host their annual recognition event Oct. 19 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City. The event is held to honor the Perry County RSVP volunteers who contribute many hours of their time and talent for the betterment of the community. The event will feature food, fun and prizes. All RSVP volunteers and volunteer station representatives are invited to attend. RSVP volunteers are encouraged to bring a guest.

  • Haunted Hollow returns

    NEW BOSTON – The youth groups of St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in New Boston, St. Martin Catholic Church in Chrisney and St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport will host the Huffman Haunted Hollow at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13.
    The event will take place at County Road 1200 North in New Boston; signs will be placed to guide visitors to the haunted hollow.

    PCHS 1977
    TELL CITY – The Perry Central High School Class of 1977 will hold its 35-year reunion from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Patio Steak House in Tell City.
    The banquet room has been reserved for the reunion. Supper will be offered from the buffet with soft drinks and tea available. Beer, win and mixed drinks may be ordered, but paid for individually.
