  • PCMH Auxiliary fall membership meeting set

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will have its annual fall membership meeting at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 5.
    Breakfast will be served in the hospital cafeteria. Members are encouraged to take any family member or friend interested in hearing more about the auxiliary. If you are planning on attending, call Mickey Fischer at 547-5691 or contact any auxiliary member. Reservations are needed by Tuesday. This will help in the preparation for the breakfast.

  • Steamboat Festival vendors needed

    HAWESVILLE, Ky. – The 2012 Hawesville Steamboat Festival Committee invites individuals and organizations to take part in the upcoming Steamboat Festival by renting a booth for the Oct. 13 and 14 festival.
    Anyone interested or who would like more information about renting are asked to contact Hawesville City Hall at (270) 927-8707. Booth rental fees are $20 without electricity and $40 with electricity.

  • EUCC gears up for fall bazaar

    Floretta Beatty and Betsy Bradley assist Jerry Brunner in putting up a banner advertising the Evangelical United Church of Christ’s annual fall bazaar Oct. 6.

    An old-fashioned breakfast of homemade biscuits, gravy, fried potatoes, sausage patties, eggs, toast and fresh jelly and jam will be served from 7 to 10 a.m. A country store featuring baked goods, fresh and canned items, candies and crafts will also be available.

  • Derby Fall Fest Oct. 6

    DERBY – The community of Derby will host a fall festival featuring several events and activities Oct. 6.
    A 5-kilometer run-walk will take place at 8 a.m. and is sponsored by the Perry County Parks and Recreation Department. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. There will be T-shirts and prize for all ages of participants.
    A fishing derby at Rainbow Pay Lake will begin at 8:30 a.m. It is for children ages 15 and younger

  • Feed the Horses fundraiser event Oct. 6 at Orschelen’s in Tell City

    TELL CITY – Horse Rescue South Inc. will host a fundraiser event starting at 10 a.m. Oct. 6 at Orschelen’s Farm and Home Store in Tell City.
    Horses the group have rescued will be at the store to visit with the public as rescue members share the horses stories and help everyone understand what the rescue is all about.
    Other events will include Jeff Varner and his mule team, who will provide free wagon rides to visitors.

  • Perry County Library to celebrate 10th anniversary Saturday

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Public Library will celebrate the 10- year anniversary of the Tell City branch with an open house and party from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 22.
    There will be prizes and giveaways for all attending. The Friends of the Library will host a reception with refreshments and will give the public an opportunity to meet the library’s new director, John Mundy. Past directors will also be present to celebrate the occasion.

    Gayer–Mosby
    TROY – The Dan and Ollie (Mosby) Gayer family reunion will be held Sept. 23 at Mulzer Camp in Troy.
