    Derby cemetery meeting Nov. 29
    DERBY – An informational meeting for St. Mary’s Cemetery in Derby will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at Derby Tavern.

  • Final 2012 TNR program set for Monday

    PERRY COUNTY – County residents are asked to help the Perry County Animal Shelter in controlling stray cats in the area with a trap, neuter and release program.
    The program is for stray cats only. Residents who are willing to capture a stray may take it to the shelter at 200 Herzeele St. in Cannelton between 5:30 and 6 a.m. Monday.
    For $30 per cat, a service from Vanderburgh County will have the cats spayed or neutered.
    Cats will be ready for pickup at 10 a.m. Tuesday and then released where they were caught.

  • Daughters of Isabella to hold annual raffle

    TELL CITY – It’s time for the Daughters of Isabella Christmas raffle, which is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. Fundraisers such as the raffle are necessary so the group can help other charitable and nonprofit organizations, scholarships and school functions in the area.
    D of I members will sell raffle tickets today, Friday and Saturday at Noble’s IGA and Cash Saver.

    Tell City after-prom fundraiser Nov. 19
    TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School junior-student parents will hold a Schwan’s fundraiser for the after-prom.

  • Community Foundation’s annual trivia night now accepting reservations

    PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Community Foundation will host its third annual Trivia Night Fundraiser this year, which offers light-hearted competition for know-it-all trivia junkies and some fun for those who simply enjoy supporting a good cause.
    The event will be held Jan. 19 at the Schergens Center in Tell City. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The trivia game will begin at 7 p.m. Reservations are required to attend the event.

    TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus 1172 Ladies Auxiliary will host an arts, crafts and vendor Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the K of C, 11th and Tell streets.

  • Mu Gamma holiday auction set for Nov. 13

    TELL CITY – Mu Gamma will host a holiday auction Nov. 13 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the auction will start at 6:30 p.m.
    Items will include gift items and homemade treats. A door prize and refreshments will also be available. Those attending will have a chance to sample Mu Gamma members holiday and Old English cheeseballs and place orders for the holidays.
