  • Schweizer Fest Pageant now accepting entries

    PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Schweizer Fest Pageant will be held July 31, at 6 p.m., at Community Christian Church, located at 821 10th Street, Tell City.

  • Horseman’s Club to host horse show Saturday

    PERRY COUNTY – Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will be hosting a Fun Horse Show and Benefit on Saturday, June 25 at 5 p.m. The clubhouse is located at 9455 Summer Road, north of Tell City, follow the signs approximately 6 miles north on Indiana 37.

    There will be games for all ages, providing fun for all participants and spectators. There is some bleacher seating available but lawn chairs are recommended.

    Lunch and Learn event Thursday

     

    TELL CITY – The Villas will host a Lunch and Learn session Thursday, June 23, at noon at the Villa Club House. Adaptive Healthcare representatives will discuss services Adaptive delivers in comprehensive home care solutions for the community.

    Adaptive will also hold a free blood-pressure clinic from 9 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the Lunch and Learn.

  • Church camp set for 44th summer, kicks off July 24

    CANNELTON – Cannelton Gospel Tabernacle will host its Victory Valley Church Camp for the 44th year the week of July 24-29.

    The camp is just 2 1/2 miles east of Cannelton on Girl Scout Road, on 19 acres of land.

    Youth ages 12 through 18 are invited to attend a week of fun, sports, activities and learning in a Bible-based, Christian atmosphere devoted to motivating and inspiring teens to dedicate their life to Christ.

  • Perry County applicants sought for 4-H fair pageants

    PERRY COUNTY – Young women ages 15 to 21 interested in serving as Miss Perry County 2016 or Junior Miss Perry County 2016 are encouraged to enter this summer’s pageants.

    Contestants must reside in Perry County. Any young woman, who previously ran for Miss Perry County 4-H Fair and who did not receive the queen title and is within the age range, is eligible to apply.

    Applications can be picked up at the Perry County 4-H Extension office, at Tell City and Perry Central high schools or emailed directly.

  • Alpine House to hold poker run June 25

    CANNELTON – The Alpine House in Tell City will host a Poker Run June 25, to benefit the local Toys for Tots program and local veterans.

    The run will begin at Cannelton American Legion Post 142, with registration from 9 to 11 a.m. The group will ride out at 11 a.m. and the entry fee will be $10. Stops will include Alpine House, Bandon Tavern, Alton American Legion and Derby Tavern.

  • Teams, cancer survivors ready for weekend Relay for Life

    LEOPOLD – On June 18, hundreds of Perry County residents, caregivers, survivors and business leaders will join together at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Perry County to help Paint Your World Purple against cancer. The event will take place from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on June 18, 2016 at Perry Central High School track in Leopold.

  • Derby Riverfest Saturday

    DERBY – The Derby Community Association will welcome old friends and newcomers to its Derby Riverfest celebration Saturday, June 18, at Mulzer Park, located at the intersection of Indiana 66 and Indiana 70.

    Activities will also be held in and adjacent to the new Derby Community Center building.

    Festival activities will include a morning 5-kilometer Dash For Dads Run and Walk sponsored by EverBody’s Fun and Fitness Center. Registration for the race will begin at 7 a.m.  with the race at 8.
