  • Bristow United Pentecostal Church homecoming set for June 8

    BRISTOW – United Pentecostal Church in Bristow will host its 61st homecoming and 21st pastoral anniversary Sunday, June 8.

    Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a potluck dinner served at 11:45 a.m. A service and special singing will follow.

    Jerry Hutchinson of Kinder, La., will be the guest speaker.

    THE WILLIAM TELL CENTER will host its weekly dance at 7 p.m. Saturday. Country Sunshine will perform a variety of music. Cost is $5 and includes drinks and snacks. Line dancing is held Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.
    Card playing is held every Tuesday at 6 p.m. The public is invited to all events. Ed Hoffman has returned as president and can be reached at (812) 547-2714 for more information.

    Baccalaureate service to honor seniors today

    TELL CITY – Friends and family of the Tell City Junior-Senior High School senior class are invited to attend a baccalaureate service led by pastors from the Tell City community. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22 in the high-school auditorium.

    LEOPOLD - A Perry Central Football Families meeting will be held at 6 p.m. today in the high-school study-hall room.

    Bingo at Legion today
    CANNELTON - In addition to its regular Friday-night bingo, the Legion will host bingo starting at 6 p.m. today.
     
    William Tell Center karaoke night May 23

    TELL CITY - The William Tell Center will host a karaoke night from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 23 at the center.

  • Colors of Hope 5K June 7

    TELL CITY - Colors of Hope, a 5K run-walk sponsored by New Directions Health and Fitness Club, will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 7.

    The race will begin and end at New Directions. Registration fees are $20 and forms are available at the club or online at www.newdirectionsfitness.com. Make checks payable to the club and mail or drop off forms at New Directions Health and Fitness Club, 632 Main St., Tell City, IN 47586.

  • Cook-York reunion planned for June 8

    LEOPOLD - The Cook-York family reunion will be held Sunday, June 8 at St. Augustine's parish hall in Leopold.

    Dinner will be held at noon and each family is asked to take a covered dish and treasured items for the auction. Dinnerware will be furnished. Organizers invite guests to take a friend as well.

  • St. Paul to host TGIF

    TELL CITY - St. Paul Catholic Church will host TGIF - beer brats, burgers and band - Friday, May 31 from 7 to 11 p.m. in the church parking lot.

    Entertainment will be provided by St. Anthony area band, The Recycled Teenagers. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be canceled.

    Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

  • Troy School homecoming set for June 21

    TROY - A Troy School homecoming has been scheduled for Saturday, June 21, in the St. Pius Parish Hall, which is the former St. Pius Grade School in Troy.

    The event will begin at 1 p.m.

    Everyone is welcome, especially anyone who graduated from or attended school at St. Pius Grade School, Troy Grade School or Troy High School.

    There will be a planning meeting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the Patio Steakhouse in Tell City.

  • Get-together planned for Snyder sisters

    CANNELTON - Pat (Snyder) Ettensohn of Marco Island, Fla. and Betty (Snyder) Martin of Terre Haute, both formerly of Cannelton, will visit Perry County Wednesday, May 21.

    All friends, former classmates and relatives are invited to stop by Lawson's Bar and Grill (formerly Yaggi's) on Seventh Street in Cannelton from 9:30 to about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and say hello.

    All are welcome to order brunch, which will be Dutch treat.

  • Tell Street Baptist Church to host guest missionary

    TELL CITY - The Tell City Baptist Church invites the community to attend a special presentation and service by missionary and guest speaker Brother Mickey Johnson.

    Johnson is a missionary to the people of eastern Europe with his current emphasis of ministering to the Roma, also known as Gypsies, within Romania.

    He will present his mission work from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday, May 25 and will preach at the 11 a.m. service.
