  • 4-H Color Me Green walk-run April 13

    TELL CITY – Walkers and runners interested in healthy living and supporting 4-H are invited to participate in the 4-H Color Me Green Run-Walk at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at Sunset Park in Tell City.
    People of all ages and abilities are welcome to run, walk or roll through the two-mile course.

    The first 50 people who register beginning at 2:30, will receive free T-shirts and sunglasses.

    Relay For Life team to offer chicken dinners April 19
    TELL CITY – The Relay For Life Lifesavers Team will offer chicken dinners at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at the corner of 12th Street and Indiana 37 in Tell City. Cost is $8 and the meal includes half a chicken, creek fries and green beans.

    William Tell Center supper, dance April 25

    TELL CITY – The William Tell Center at 1301 11th St. in Tell City will host a chili supper and dance Friday, April 25, at the center.

    MU GAMMA CHAPTER OF BETA SIGMA PHI will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at the Evangelical Church of Christ fellowship hall. Hostesses will be Susie Harpenau, Pam Krieg and Mary Hackel.

    Cannelton High School Class of 1961 members will meet for their monthly luncheon at noon Thursday, April 10, at the Patio. All class members and members of other classes and their friends are invited.

    Tell City Band Boosters auction set for May 3
    TELL CITY – Tell City Band Boosters will hold their annual silent and live auctions May 3 in the high school’s Red Apple Inn. The doors will open at 9 a.m. and silent-auction bidding will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A live auction will be held at 11 a.m.

    DELENE GRIEPENSTRAH will serve as coffee social hostess Thursday, April 10, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Evangelical United Church of  Christ fellowship hall. The public is invited.

    THE WOMEN'S GUILD at Evangelical United Church of Christ will meet Thursday, April 10, at 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Mona Lehman, president, will preside.

  • Troy spring cleanup set for April 24-25

    TROY – Spring cleanup for Troy residents is scheduled for April 24-25. All items need to be at curbside by 7 a.m. Thursday, April 24. The trash crew will not backtrack for items placed out after that time.

    No tires, items with Freon or computer components will be picked up and paint cans must be drained before placed for pickup. No collection will occur on vacant lots.

    A $10 fee for each large item to be picked up must be paid at the utility office before pickup. The receipt must be attached to the item to be picked up.

    Tell City firefighters will sell dinners Sunday
    TELL CITY – The Tell City Fire Department will serve barbecued-chicken dinners Sunday, April 6, at the firehouse. Serving will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the cost will be $7.50 per plate.

  • Perry Central group will host dodgeball tournament Sunday

    LEOPOLD – The Perry Central After-Prom Committee will host its second annual dodgeball tourney and luncheon at 12:30 Sunday, April 6, at the Perry Central High School and elementary gym.

    Concessions, including pizza, walking tacos and desserts, will be available beginning at 11 a.m. in the high-school commons.

    Registration is open to the public. Age divisions will be fourth through sixth grade, seventh through ninth grade and 10th grade and older. Entry fee is $5 per person or $30 per team.

  • Ferdinand townwide yard sale this weekend

    FERDINAND – The year’s  first town-wide yard sale in southern Indiana is set for Friday and Saturday, April 4-5 in and around Ferdinand. The Ferdinand Merchants and Chamber of Commerce sponsor the annual event.

    Entire neighborhoods are sifting through drawers, closets, basements and attics to come up with lots of fun and fabulous “stuff,” organizers said.

    Most of Ferdinand’s homes have porches, garages and basements just in case the weather is unkind.
