  • Lodge offering booth space for annual summer picnic

    TELL CITY – Tell City Moose Lodge 1424’s Summer Fest Picnic will be held June 28-30.
    Nonprofit organizations wanting to set up booths this year can call Bill Coyle at 547-7867 or 547-6885 to reserve a spot.

  • Kayaking at Patoka Saturday

    PATOKA – The public is invited to take kayaks and join the naturalist for a tour on the lake at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Little Patoka Boat Ramp.
    Meet the naturalist at the Patoka Lake Visitor Center to car caravan to the ramp. The caravan will leave promptly at 8:30a.m.  
    The tour will spend the morning on the waters of Patoka, viewing the rock quarry and waterfall while looking for beaver, bald eagles and other wildlife along the way.

  • Annual Southern Indiana Power meeting set for June 21

    TELL CITY – The community is invited to the 74th annual meeting of Southern Indiana Power June 21 at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds in Tell City.
    Registration, a meal and activities will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting at 7:30. Each guest is asked to register upon arrival.

    Horlander to celebrate 100th birthday

    TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus will host a 100th birthday party for Doretha Horlander at 2 p.m. today in the Transitional Care Dining Area.

  • Zumba party for charity June 27

    TELL CITY – Everbody’s Gym will host a Zumba party from 7 to 9 p.m. June 27 in the back parking lot of William Tell Elementary School.
    Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event. Proceeds from the party will benefit Autism Speaks, a charity Blair Walsh and Tyler Rainey will be running for in the Chicago Marathon.
    Those participating may also pay $5 per song to have Walsh and Rainey dance with the group.

  • Parks and Rec board to meet Wednesday

    ROME - The Perry County Parks and Recreation board will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilkerson County Park in Rome.

    CANNELTON – A block party at Cottonmill Apartments for all Cannelton residents will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
    Free food, games, prizes and family activities will be available.

    TCHS 1973
    TELL CITY – Tell City High School Class of 1973 will hold an organization and planning meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fiesta Grande.
    All classmates are invited to attend to help plan the upcoming reunion.

    Rickenbaugh family

    PERRY COUNTY – The Rickenbaugh family reunion is set for June 30 at the Rickenbaugh House at Seline Lake in Perry County.
    A basket dinner will begin around noon. Campsites are available for family members.

  • Annual Derby Riverfest set to kick off June 22

    DERBY – Derby Community Association is accepting applications for vendor space for the Derby Riverfest June 22 at Mulzer Park in Derby.
    Fest activities will include a flea market, community yard sales, antique tractor and gas engine show, a tractor pull for kids, free kids games, a 5K run-walk, a bowfishing tournament and live entertainment.
    Food, beverages and wine tasting will also be available.
    Proceeds from the event will benefit the community association.
