    Cook – York
    LEOPOLD – The Cook-York family reunion will be Sunday at St. Augustine’s parish hall in Leopold. Dinner will be at noon and each family is asked to take a covered dish. There will be an auction, so take treasured items for the event. Dinnerware will be furnished.

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton High School Class of 1949 will meet for their 64th reunion at noon Saturday at the Patio Steak House. For more information, call 547-7688 or 547-2463.

  • Animals, raffle at Tractor Supply Saturday

    TELL CITY – Animals for kids of all ages to pet and a raffle for grownups to win will be attractions at the Tractor Supply store in Tell City from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
    Jo Sodrel of Horse Rescue South invites everyone to visit horses from that agency and miniature donkeys from the C&R Petting Zoo of Perry County.
    Two $50 prizes will be offered in a raffle. Tickets will cost $1 each or six for $5.

  • Derby Riverfest June 22

    DERBY – Derby Community Association is accepting applications for vendor space for the Derby Riverfest June 22 at Mulzer Park in Derby.

    Fest activities will include a flea market, community yard sales, antique tractor and gas engine show, a tractor pull for kids, free kids games, a 5K run-walk, a bowfishing tournament and live entertainment.

    Food, beverages and wine tasting will also be available. Proceeds from the event will benefit the community association.

  • German American Relay fundraisers under way

    PERRY COUNTY – German American locations in Tell City are conducting annual sales of petunias and French Ridge candles to raise funds for Perry County Relay for Life.

    Petunias are available for $5.50 each or two for $10. Candles are $6 each.

  • Novice ghost hunt July 20 in Cannelton

    CANNELTON – The Tell City Ghost Hunters will host a novice hunt at the Perry County Museum in Cannelton from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. July 20.

    Novice hunts are designed for individuals who are interested in paranormal activity but are not a part of an organized team. The group will have equipment for participants to use. Cost is $25 per person and only six tickets will be available. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

    PERRY COUNTY – The Humane Society of Perry County is planning a spring appreciation meeting for its members.

  • GOPerry breakfast June 15

    TELL CITY – GOPerry Club will sponsor a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. June 15 at Ponderosa. Judge Lucy Goffinet will be the guest speaker and everyone is welcome to attend.

    The club will continue monthly presentations by local groups throughout the year.

    Elder School
    LEOPOLD – Anyone who has ever attending the Elder school is invited to a reunion June 2. A pitch in dinner will begin at 1 p.m. at Leopold Park. Classmates are invited to attend for games, cornhole, fellowship and more. Anyone may take a game for the group to play.

    Block party at Cotton Mill
    CANNELTON – A block party for all Cannelton residents will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Cotton Mill Apartments.

  • Benefit dance for Isaac Gogel Saturday

    FULDA – A benefit dance for 14-year old Isaac Gogel will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Fulda Sportsman Club.
    Admission to the event is $8 and music will be provided by the band Fire-N-Ice. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, baked goods and more. A raffle will be at 8 p.m.
    Gogel is the son of Paul and Lana Gogel of Fulda. He was diagnosed with leukemia Jan. 11.
