    TELL CITY – Anyone wishing to help with the planning of the Tell City High School Class of 1972 reunion is asked to meet at 6 p.m. Sunday at Fiesta Grande in Tell City.

  • Reunions, Sept. 1

    Batson
    ST. MARKS – The 85th annual Capt. Andrew Peter Batson family reunion will be held Sunday at St. Mark Parish Hall. The meal will be served at 12:30 p.m.
    Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and drinks. Paper goods will be supplied.
    The meal will be followed by a family meeting. Please help update genealogy records by bringing information and photos. There will be a drawing for door prizes.

  • Upcoming events at Patoka Lake

    Kayaking at Patoka Lake set for Sept. 10
    BIRDSEYE – Take a kayak or canoe and join the naturalists for a tour on the lake at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 10 at Wall’s Lake Boat Ramp off Highway 145. Look for beaver, bald eagles and other wildlife along the way. Discover a little bit of Patoka’s past during this morning paddle.
    Participants are asked to take life jackets, snacks and refreshments, and sunscreen for this journey. If you prefer, meet the naturalists at the visitor center at 8:30 a.m. to car caravan to the ramp.

  • Cheerleaders to host camp at William Tell

    TELL CITY – The 2011 Marksmen cheerleading camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 17 at William Tell Elementary School, 1235 31st St., Tell City.
    Cost is $25 and includes a T-shirt and lunch. Children ages 6-13 are invited to participate.
    Registration packets can be picked up in the office at William Tell Elementary and Tell City Junior-Senior High School or by contacting Terria Mowery or any senior high cheerleader.

  • Leopold barbecue cook-off Sept. 17

    LEOPOLD – The Leopold Park Association will host a backyard barbecue competition Saturday, Sept. 17 at Leopold Park.
    Grillers will have a choice of chicken or pork. Everyone is welcome to participate. A list of rules for the competition can be obtained by calling 719-8950.
    Music by Sweetwater will start at 4 p.m.

  • Coin club sponsoring coin show Sept. 24

    TELL CITY – The River Cities Coin Club will host its fifth annual Fall Coin Show at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds in Tell City, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 24.
    Coin dealers expected are from Kentucky and Indiana. Dealers will be displaying U.S. and world coins and currency for sale and trade. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Admission is free.
