    Yoga class at TCJSHS Wednesday
    TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will host a yoga class from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the auxiliary gym.

  • Public invited to DAR program, meeting March 13 at library

    TELL CITY – The Lafayette Spring Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution announces Kandie Atkinson, administrative specialist with the Kentucky Land Office Branch, will speak at the group’s monthly meeting March 13.
    This meeting will be open to the public and begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Perry County Public Library – Tell City branch.

  • Homemakers News: Huff Township

    EVANSTON – The Huff Township Homemakers met Jan. 16 at the home of Sharon Myers. President Sharon Heltzel called the meeting to order with the Pledge to the Flag and the Homemaker’s Creed said in unison. She also read the hint-tip and words to live by. Heltzel led the song of the month, “Frosty the Snowman.”
    Reflection was “A Time for Everything,” read by Myers.

  • Girl Scouts booth sales

    PERRY COUNTY – Local Girl Scouts will hold the following cookie booth sales:
    Today – from 5 to 5:30 p.m. at Papa John’s Pizza in Tell City.
    Feb. 23 – from 1 to 3 p.m. at Orscheln’s Farm and Home Store.
    Cookie customers can use special Girl Scout cookie apps, available for Apple and Android cell-phone systems, to find where they can purchase cookies in their area. Links to these apps are on the Web site, www.girlscouts-gssi.org. Click on “Cookies.”

    Mu Gamma to meet today
    TELL CITY – The Mu Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Patio. Hostesses will be the members of the special events committee.
    Members with secret sisters are reminded to bring gifts and those members without secret sisters may take part in gift exchange. Gifts are to be between $20 and $25.
    The chapter will provide $10 for each member’s meal. Members are reminded to turn in pizza orders by Feb. 21.

    BRETZVILLE – Purdue Extension will again host the annual Southwest Indiana Crop Seminar from 12:25 to 3 p.m. EST March 6 at the Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds in Bretzville.

    TELL CITY – The Tell City High School National Honor Society will host a silent auction during the boys’ basketball game Saturday.

  • Girl Scouts to deliver cookie orders, hold booth sales

    PERRY COUNTY – Local Girl Scouts will make cookie deliveries to customers through March 10. Cookies will also be available at the following booth sales:
    Friday – from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City and from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Old National Bank near McDonald’s.

    Humane Society to meet Tuesday
    TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the community room at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City.

  • Big T’s Trade Day set

    TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host its annual Big T’s Trade Day at noon March 9.
    The public is invited to participate in this event. In the past, the day has featured unique trading goods, according to organizers, such as horse tack, tools, furniture, fencing supplies, household appliances, chickens, ducks and other animals.
