    Wheeler family
    BRISTOW – The Wheeler family reunion will be at 11 a.m. June 29 at St. Isidore hall in Bristow.
    A carry-in meal will be at noon. Tea, lemonade, cups, plates, utensils and napkins will be provided.
    Games, activities, prizes and more will be offered through the day.  For more information, call Marta Heeke at 547-6191.

    PERRY COUNTY – The Rickenbaugh family reunion is set for June 30 at the Rickenbaugh House at Seline Lake in Perry County.

  • TC’s Music in the Park, movie night Saturday

    PERRY COUNTY – The Tell City Regional Arts Association will host Music in the Park Saturday. The event will begin at 6 p.m. in City Hall Park in Tell City. The band TunnelVision will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. and the movie will start in City Hall Park at dusk.

    TunnelVision is a contemporary Christian praise band from Owensboro, Ky.

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central football families are invited to a meeting at 6 p.m. today in the high-school study-hall room.

  • RSVP’s ice-cream social

    TELL CITY – In honor of Senior Corps Week, Lincoln Hills Development Corp.’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will host its annual ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 24 at Evangelical United Church of Christ, 802 10th St., Tell City.
    The event will feature food, fun, bingo and prizes, organizers said.
    All RSVP volunteers and volunteer station representatives are invited to attend, as well as anyone 55 years and older who would like to learn more about RSVP.

    TELL CITY – Tell City Moose Lodge 1424’s Summer Fest Picnic will be held June 28-30.
    Nonprofit organizations wanting to set up booths this year can call Bill Coyle at 547-7867 or 547-6885 to reserve a spot.

  • Kayaking at Patoka Saturday

    PATOKA – The public is invited to take kayaks and join the naturalist for a tour on the lake at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Little Patoka Boat Ramp.
    Meet the naturalist at the Patoka Lake Visitor Center to car caravan to the ramp. The caravan will leave promptly at 8:30a.m.  
    The tour will spend the morning on the waters of Patoka, viewing the rock quarry and waterfall while looking for beaver, bald eagles and other wildlife along the way.

  • Annual Southern Indiana Power meeting set for June 21

    TELL CITY – The community is invited to the 74th annual meeting of Southern Indiana Power June 21 at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds in Tell City.
    Registration, a meal and activities will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting at 7:30. Each guest is asked to register upon arrival.

    Horlander to celebrate 100th birthday

    TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus will host a 100th birthday party for Doretha Horlander at 2 p.m. today in the Transitional Care Dining Area.

  • Zumba party for charity June 27

    TELL CITY – Everbody’s Gym will host a Zumba party from 7 to 9 p.m. June 27 in the back parking lot of William Tell Elementary School.
    Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event. Proceeds from the party will benefit Autism Speaks, a charity Blair Walsh and Tyler Rainey will be running for in the Chicago Marathon.
    Those participating may also pay $5 per song to have Walsh and Rainey dance with the group.
