  • Moose Lodge cocktails and paint party Aug. 17

    TELL CITY – There will be a “Cocktails and Paint Party” Aug. 17, at the Tell City Moose lodge beginning at 5:30.

    Early Bird Crafting will be leading the paint party. The fee is $25 per person and $10 of that amount will go to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s team. Cocktails may be purchased at the bar.

    The Golden Living Center - Lincoln Hills team will attend the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Sept. 24, in Jasper. Call Mary Steed at (812) 547-3427 for more details.

  • Horseman’s Club benefit show Aug. 27

    TELL CITY – Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will be hosting a Fun Horse Show and Benefit on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 5 p.m.

    There will be games for all ages, providing fun for all participants and spectators.

    There is some bleacher seating available but lawn chairs are recommended.

    This show is also a fund-raiser for Stir-N-Hope Therapeutic Riding Program. 

  • Friends of the library silent auction Aug. 10-11

    TELL CITY – In addition to having the annual Schweizer Fest Book sale at the Tell City Public Library, located in the Bookmobile garage, the library will also be hosting a silent auction and yard sale in the upstairs meeting room. There will be many items in both venues, and will include 12 Tell City Chair bowback kitchen chairs and old wooden card catalogs for silent auction.   All items may be viewed on Aug. 10-11, during normal library hours.

    Come join the fun and place your bids on silent auction items and browse for good used yard sale items.

  • Marshall Tucker Band to perform locally Aug. 12

    LINCOLN CITY – Legendary southern rockers, The Marshall Tucker Band, will perform at the Lincoln Amphitheatre on Friday, Aug. 12, with local and regional favorites Eighty-Sixt as openers. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., Eighty-Sixt takes the stage at 6 p.m. and The Marshall Tucker Band will perform at 7 p.m.

    Premium and VIP seating for the event is sold out – there are a limited number of general admission tickets ($24.75) available for purchase on www.LincolnAmphitheatre.com. Orders can also be placed over the phone by calling (812) 937-2329.

  • Local beers available at Schweizer Fest

    TELL CITY – Beer has long been a part of Tell City’s history and heritage. This year, a craft beer garden will join the Schweizer Fest lineup and will include locally made brews.

    The first Schweizer Fest Craft Beer Garden will be held Thursday and Friday, Aug. 11-12 on Main Street.

    Participating brewers expected to take part are Tell City Brewing Co., the Schnitz, Carson’s Brewery and St. Benedict’s Brew Works. Each will offer two beers both evenings. They will offer tastings and will sell beer by the glass.

  • 10th Street Fair returns Saturday

    TELL CITY – The 10th Street Fall Fair will return this autumn to Tell City on Saturday, Sept. 17.  Family fun, live music, food booths, shopping, photo booth, petting zoo and games for all ages will fill the afternoon and evening. This family friendly event will run from 3 to 7 p.m. and will be hosted by Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City.

  • Relay for Life wrap-up Aug. 8

    PERRY COUNTY – The Relay For Life of Perry County will hold its wrap-up celebrations on Monday, Aug. 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the Tell City Moose Lodge. Committee, Leadership, team captains, participants, survivors, sponsors, and anyone wanting to help with Relay 2017 are invited to attend.

    RSVP to Teri James, (812) 499-9476 or teresa.james@cancer.org by Aug. 5. There will be a free pasta bar provided for those attending, take a favorite side dish or dessert. Drinks can be purchased at the bar.

    Free kidney class Aug. 9

     

    TELL CITY – There will be a Free Kidney Smart Education class on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Fifth Third Bank Community Room in Tell City.

    The class is free and open to anyone that’s been diagnosed with kidney disease and family members are encouraged to attend with patient’s also. For more information or to enroll for the class, contact Davita Tell City Dialysis Center (812) 547-1140.

  • Tell City’s bicentennial parade is Aug. 6

    TELL CITY – Tell City’s bicentennial parade is set for Saturday, Aug. 6.

    Parade lineup will begin at 1 p.m. and the parade will start at 2. It will follow the same route as the city’s Christmas parade.

    Awards will be given out. Businesses, civic groups, churches and individuals are encouraged to take part.

    Back-to-school food pantry July 31 and Aug. 7

     

    TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist Church will have a “Back to School Lunch Items” food pantry Sunday July 31, and Aug. 7. The food collected will be donated to Widow’s Barrel to help with local families and children for lunches.
