    First United Methodist to host blood drive

     

    TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist Church will host a blood drive from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 30.

    Donors must take identification or a Red Cross card. First United Methodist Church is located at 702 10th St.

    VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS POST 2939 Ladies Auxiliary will host an annual summer party beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at the post home.

    St. Paul’s TGIF set for Friday

     

    TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church will host its annual “TGIF” from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 29, in the church parking lot.

    Entertainment will be provided by Leo Gronquist and friends. Food and drinks will be available.

    In the event of inclement weather, the event will be canceled. TGIF is free and will be open to the public.

    Beekeeping workshop set for Tuesday

     

    BRANCHVILLE – Purdue Extension, Perry County and the Perry County Bee Keepers are holding a beekeeping workshop May 26. 

    The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a hive-opening demonstration.

    Bill Gibson will do a hive- opening demonstration at the Robert Gibson place located at 19680 Old St. Road 37, Branchville, one mile north of  Perry Central High School.

  • Legion treasure hunt drawing May 29

    TELL CITY – American Legion Post 213 will have a weekly treasure-hunt drawing beginning Friday, May 29.

    The drawing will be held at 7 p.m. and will continue every Friday thereafter.

    Tickets are now on sale at the post home. The public is welcome to attend the drawing and purchase tickets.

    Free health screenings at Twilight Towers

     

    TELL CITY – Spring has sprung, and it’s a perfect time to take charge of your health.

    The next Deaconess VNA Plus blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings are scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Twilight Towers in Tell City.

    Screenings will be conducted by a registered nurse and no pre-registration is necessary.

    Free health screenings by PCMH Tuesday

     

    TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital will offer free blood-pressure and glucose (sugar) screenings every Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 10 a.m. inside the Tell City Wal-Mart.

    Fasting for two hours is recommended, eight hours is preferred. You may drink water, black coffee and take your medications.
