  • Dale’s second car show set for April 15

    DALE – The second annual Dale Car Show will be held April 15 in Dale Town Park, located at the corner of Medcalf and Wallace streets.
    Registration is from 8 to 11 a.m. and cost is $10 per vehicle. Judging will begin at noon with awards presented at 3 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to the top 30 vehicles with three special awards, and to the top five bikes. Dash plaques, door prizes and goody bags will also be available. Those attending will also be able to play various games throughout the day.

  • Girl Scouts to host Fun Run-Walk April 21

    PERRY COUNTY – Perry County Girl Scout troops 356, 511, 328 and 126 will host a fun run-walk fundraiser April 21 to raise money for a trip to New York. The event will begin at City Hall in Tell City. Participants will follow a route around town, through the new greenway and back to City Hall.

    Early Start program set for Friday morning in Tell City
    TELL CITY – Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Early Head Start invites the public to attend a parent enrichment program scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the Early Head Start office, at 321 Ninth St., in Tell City.
    The topic for March will be “Knowing Your Community Resources.” Light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Kelly Luker, EHS family resource coordinator, at 547-4850 Ext. 113 or (812) 619-1842.

  • Rome to host flea markets starting in April

    ROME – The Rome Community Center will begin to host flea markets through summer and fall months this year. The first market will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 14.
    Everyone is welcome and vendors may include new and used items, crafters, antiques, artists and produce. No food vendors will be accepted. Space is available for $10.
    Concessions will be available. Proceeds from the markets will benefit the Rome Community Center, which is the old Perry County Courthouse. For more information, call 836-2104 or 836-4431.

  • German American invites Prime 50 customers can travel the country

    JASPER – With the beautiful spring weather, has your mind turned to venturing out to do some traveling? German American’s Prime 50 travel program offers customers some great travel opportunities, a news release stated. The Prime 50 travel program is for customers age 50 or over. All arrangements will be handled for participants.
    Departing April 28, the group will venture off to New York City, Atlantic City and Philadelphia. Reservation deadline for this trip is April 12.

  • Family Roots Nursery sponsors free seminars beginning Saturday

    DALE – Family Roots Nursery Inc. in Dale will present a home and garden seminar series during the spring and summer for anyone interested. The seminars will be held at 2 p.m. EST Saturdays beginning this Saturday.
    All seminars may be attended at no charge and some will include “make and takes” items for a nominal fee. Aaron and Andrea Peters of Family Roots Nursery will present some of the seminars while others will be presented by individuals better suited for the topics.

    PCHS Class of 1987 to finalize reunion plans Sunday
    LEOPOLD – The Perry Central Class of 1987 will hold an organizational meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday at Marcy’s Restaurant in Leopold.
    Everyone is invited to attend. The group will make final plans on a date and place for the reunion. For more information, contact Angie at 843-4755 or Donna at 843-4590. Information can also be found on the class’s Facebook page, “Perry Central Class of 1987.”

  • PCMH to offer CPR, first aid classes in Tell City

    TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital will offer American Heart Association CPR programs and a first aid course during March and April.
    The Family and Friends CPR classes will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. today and 12:20 to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. March 28.
    This program is designed for the lay-person, 10 years and older, to learn CPR and choking-rescue skills.
    No testing or performance evaluation will be required. Fee for the program is $10.

    TELL CITY – Mu Gamma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Evangelical United Church of Christ.
