    THE WILLIAM TELL Center will have their weekly dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at the center.  3 For All band will perform.

    TWILIGHT TOWERS offers bingo and euchre games in its dining room. Bingo games are held every Wednesday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and card games are held at 6 p.m. Thursdays and the first Monday of each month. The public is invited.

  • Operation Round Up applications due Tuesday

    PERRY COUNTY – Thanks to collective donations, Southern Indiana Power’s Operation Round Up is becoming a very successful way to provide funds to local community programs and projects.      
    The Operation Round Up board of trustees will accept applications until Tuesday.  Disbursement will take place in October.

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton American Legion Auxiliary meetings will be held the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the legion post home.

  • Ellspermann to attend Saturday Celebration of Courage brunch

    SANTA CLAUS – The organizers of the Celebration of Courage say cause is extremely important. And they assure you a good time is practically guaranteed.
    On Sept. 21, Crisis Connection Inc. will host its annual brunch and silent auction in the community room at Heritage Hills Baptist Church, west of Santa Claus on Indiana 162.
    Doors will open at 9 a.m.

  • Alzheimer’s care workshop Tuesday

    FERDINAND – Tri-State area families are invited to attend a free Alzheimer’s care training workshop that will be offered in recognition of World Alzheimer’s Month. 
    The session will be held at 7:30 p.m. EDT Tuesday at Scenic Hills, 311 E. First St., Ferdinand, and from 9 a.m. to noon EDT Sept. 28 at the Home Instead Senior Care office in Evansville.

  • GOPerry Club meeting Saturday

    PERRY COUNTY – The GOPerry Club will sponsor a Saturday breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Ponderosa in Tell City. Nancy Rennie, a local employee of the Indiana Department of Child Services, will be the guest speaker.
    Everyone is welcome.
    The club will continue its monthly gatherings throughout the year with local speakers. For more information, call Gayle Strassell at 547-2262.
     

  • 68th annual Cannelton fall fest Oct. 24

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization is sponsoring its 68th annual Cannelton Fall Festival from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 24 in the Cannelton Community Center.  

    Queen candidates for this year’s festival are kindergartner Chloe Hale, first-grader Taylor DuPont, second-grader Makayla Reed, third-grader Claire Sabelhaus, fourth-grader Maggie Dawson and fifth-grader Bre’ Noland.

  • 12th annual Wheelin’ in the Fish coming Sept. 21

    BIRDSEYE – The 12th annual Wheelin’ IN the Fish will be held at Osborn Boat Ramp, Patoka Lake from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 21. This free fishing event promotes the accessible features of Patoka Lake for participants with special needs and their families. Those confined to a wheelchair or any other circumstance that doesn’t allow them to live alone are invited to attend for free fishing, free boat rides and free lunch. Nursing home, group home and home health-service groups are also invited to take their patrons to the event. All equipment will be provided.

  • Cruisin’ Towards a Cure for Pulmonary Fibrosis Oct. 5

    HOLLAND – Cruisin’ Toward a Cure for Pulmonary Fibrosis, a fundraiser to raise money for research and to raise awareness for the disease, will be held Oct. 5 at Holland Municipal Park.
    Car registration will be from 9 a.m. to noon with an awards ceremony scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Registration for the 5K run will be at 8 a.m. with awards to follow. There will also be a corn hole tournament at noon. All times are EDT.

    Legion family picnic Sept. 15
    TELL CITY – American Legion Post 213 will host its annual family picnic Sept. 15 at the post home in Tell City.
    Legion, auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion members are invited to attend. Dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m.
    Drinks, meat, potatoes and a vegetable will be furnished. Those attending are asked to take a dessert.
