  • Memorial FamilyCARE relocating in Jasper

    JASPER – Effective Aug. 26, Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s Memorial FamilyCARE office began seeing patients at a new location, 1025 First Avenue in Jasper; the street before Ruxer Ford Lincoln car dealership on U.S. 231.
    Memorial FamilyCARE is a participating member of many PPO insurance plans and accepts Medicaid and Medi-care. Patients are asked to verify coverage with their insurance carriers. For those who qualify, a sliding fee scale is available. No patient is denied medical care for financial reasons.

  • Animals, other attractions to be at Orscheln’s

    TELL CITY – Horse Rescue South will have horses and other animals on display at Orscheln Farm and Home Supply in Tell City from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
    “We will have a petting zoo with mini donkeys and Kiko goats,” the rescue organization’s Jo Sodrel said, adding those animals will not be available for sale or adoption.
    Face painting, raffles, food and drinks and many more activities will also be available, she said.

  • Ellspermann to attend Sept. 21 Celebration of Courage brunch

    SANTA CLAUS – The cause is extremely important.
    And a good time is practically guaranteed.
    On Sept. 21, Crisis Connection Inc. will host its annual brunch and silent auction in the community room at Heritage Hills Baptist Church, west of Santa Claus on Indiana 162.
    Doors will open at 9 a.m.
    The food will be fantastic. Shelly Morris caters every year and to say attendees just enjoy her fare would be an understatement. An amazing chef, she offers all sorts of tantalizing delicacies. The meal alone is well worth the cost of admission.

  • KWC open house Saturday

    OWENSBORO, Ky. – Experience college life at Kentucky Wesleyan College at the fall open house Saturday. The event will kick off with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Winchester Community Center.
    From accounting to zoology, students can explore the nearly 40 academic majors and pre-professional programs available and learn how a 15:1 student-faculty ratio ensures that an education at KWC concentrates on each individual student, organizers said.

  • Fun Horse Show set for Saturday

    The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host a fun horse show Saturday at 5 p.m. All profits will be donated to the Perry County 4-H Horse and Pony Club.

    VFW selling pork-chop dinners Saturday
    TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 will host a pork-chop dinner Saturday at the post home in Tell City.
    Meals will include a pork chop, baked potato and slaw. Serving will begin at 10:30 a.m. and cost is $7.50 each.

    Bake sale Friday at Old National
    TELL CITY – Old National Bank in Tell City will host a bake sale Friday to raise funds for the March of Dimes.
    Items will be available during normal banking hours.

  • Benefit auction, set for dance Saturday

    TELL CITY – The friends and family of Larry Taylor will host a benefit auction and dance to help raise funds for his medical  bills and expenses.
    The event will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Tell City American Legion Post on Indiana 66.
    Admission will be $15 per person or $25 per couple.
    There will be live music by “Good Ole Boys,” food and a cash bar.
    Cash donations may be made at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City to the “Benefit of Larry Taylor” account.
    Taylor has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

  • Donnelly to keynote Jefferson-Jackson dinner

    TELL CITY – U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly will be the key-note speaker for the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner hosted by the Perry County Democrat Central Committee Saturday. The event will be held at the Tell City Knights of Columbus. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7. Cost is $20 per person. The public is invited.

  • Social news, Sept. 12

    THE WILLIAM TELL Center will have their weekly dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at the center. The band 3 For All will perform.

    TWILIGHT TOWERS offers bingo and euchre games in its dining room. Bingo games are held every Wednesday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and card games are held at 6 p.m. Thursdays and the first Monday of each month. The public is invited.
