  • Ivy Tech annual yard sale coming June 24

    TELL CITY – Is it time to clean out your closets and make some money?  Do you have something you make that you want to sell?  Ivy Tech’s Community Yard Sale is planned for June 24, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., both inside and outside the building. 

    Limited Booth spaces are available inside the Ivy Tech site for $30. Outside vendor space is available for $20 and vendors must provide their own tables, tents, etc.

    Ivy Tech sponsors this event annually, as a service to the community and as a fundraiser for United Way of Perry County.

  • Perry County Miss and Mister 2017 applications sought

    PERRY COUNTY – Interested in becoming 2017 Perry County 4-H Fair Royalty? Any young woman or man age 15-21 can apply. Contestants must reside in Perry County.

    Any young woman who previously ran for Miss Perry County 4-H Fair and did not receive the queen title and is within the age range, is eligible to apply. Applications can be picked up at the Perry County 4-H Extension office or emailed directly. For more information, email or contact Lily Wargel at lilywargel@gmail.com (812) 719-4340.

    The deadline for application is Friday, June 23.

  • Family Fun Day at Oakwood set for June 8

    TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus will hold a Family Fun Day event on Thursday, June 8, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

    Oakwood has been chosen as the Finish Line for Trilogy’s T200 Bike Run. Riders are expected to cross the finish line at Oakwood at approx. 2:25 p.m. and the staff would like to invite community members to cheer on the riders as they cross the finish line. Several events will take place on the grounds.

  • VFW and American Legion posts plan Memorial Day weekend ceremonies

    PERRY COUNTY – A week from today, Monday, May 30, the nation will observe Memorial Day, a day to reflect and honor the many soldiers who served our country and protected our freedom.

    Karaoke at William Tell Center Friday

     

    TELL CITY – There will be karaoke held at William Tell Center Friday, May 19, from 7 to 10 p.m. featuring System of Soundz.

     

    Oakwood open house today

     

    TELL CITY – The Villas at Oakwood will host an open house Thursday, May 18, from 2 to 5 p.m.

    Tours of the Model Room will be given. Refreshments and door prize drawing will be available.

    Perry County Indivisible event Tuesday

     

    TELL CITY – Perry County Indivisible group will host 8th District congressional candidate Glen Miller  Tuesday, May 16, at 6 p.m. at Perry County Public Library in Tell City.

    Topics will include recent healthcare legislation, among others.

     

    Oakwood open house May 18

     

    TELL CITY – The Villas at Oakwood will host an open house Thursday, May 18, from 2 to 5 p.m.

  • Oakwood art contest entries due by June 5

    TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus will hold an art competition for local artists in the community as part of a wellness event.

    Trilogy Health Services holds its annual T200 Bike Run to raise health and wellness awareness. This year, Oakwood Health Campus was chosen as the location for the finish line to the event.

    As part of the finish line festivities, an art competition is being held. It is open to all local artists and to any art media category.

  • JFK Pool opening May 31

    TELL CITY – The JFK Pool in Tell City will open Wednesday, May 31, at noon, for the 2017 summer season. Hours for opening day will be from noon to 5 p.m.

    Regular pool hours for the remainder of the season will be Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

    Admission will be $5 per person for anyone over 4 years of age, and 4 and under are free. Anyone under 8 years old must be accompanied by someone 13 years or older, no exceptions.

    Pool passes are available at City Hall or at the pool. The cost is $80 for a book of 20 passes.

  • Poppy program Friday-Saturday

    PERRY COUNTY – Red crepe paper poppies will be available Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13, at two Tell City locations, Nobles IGA and Cash Savers. The program is an annual event sponsored by members of Tell City’s American Legion 213 Auxiliary.

    Volunteers will take part in the nation-wide program in memory of the citizen soldiers who gave their lives in the cause of freedom. Funds collected on Poppy Days are used to assist veterans and their families.

    Fulda Sportsman car show May 20

     

    FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club in Fulda will host a Craft, Car and Tractor Show Saturday, May 20, at the Club. This will be held in conjunction with the town-wide yard sales. Craft show will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

    Registration for the car show will be from 7 a.m. to noon, with prizes awarded at 2 p.m. No registration required for the Tractor show.
