  • Schedule announced for fifth St. Meinrad ROCKS! Fest

    ST. MEINRAD – Inkspot Productions LLC has announced the complete schedule for the fifth annual St. Meinrad ROCKS! Fest. The two-day benefit event will be held at the St. Meinrad Park Sept. 25-26.

  • Horseman’s club euchre games to begin Oct. 3

    TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host euchre games throughout fall and winter.

    The next game will be held Saturday, Oct. 3. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 7 p.m. Prize money will be awarded at the end of the evening. Chili, hotdogs, desserts, coffee, sodas and water will be available.

    No smoking is permitted in the building. All games are open to the public ages 16 and older.

  • Miss Heritage Fest Pageant returns to Cannelton Oct. 10

    CANNELTON – The Cannelton Heritage Festival will feature the Miss Heritage Fest Pageant Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Cannelton Community Center. LuLu’s Prom and Bridal will host the second annual pageant starting at 11 a.m.

    Pageant contestants must be a resident of Perry County or have an immediate family member (mother, father, grandparents) that live in Perry County. Age categories include Miss (17-22), Teen (13-16), Pre-Teen (9-12), Little Miss (5-8), and Tiny Miss (2-4).

  • Museum to host benefit and silent auction at Friday Wine Over Water

    ROCKY POINT – The Perry County Museum will host a fundraising event during Blue Heron Winery’s Wine Over Water Friday, Sept. 18, at the winery on the hill above Rocky Point. The event will start at 6 p.m. with admission and silent auction proceeds benefiting the museum.

    The music guests will be Danny Bolin, Leo Gronquist and Don Sherry. Food will be available for purchase from Rudy’s and wine from Blue Heron Winery.

  • Evanston hog roast returns for 32nd year

    EVANSTON – The town of Evanston will hold its 32nd annual Saturday, Sept. 19 at the town park. T

    he event promises a host of activities from dawn until midnight where members of the community and surrounding area can spend a fun-filled Saturday night with friends and family.

    The park’s softball field will get some early-morning use at 9 a.m. with a coed softball tourney. More opportunities for exercise will present themselves at 11 a.m. as a volleyball tourney and hole-in-one contest begin.

  • Owensboro Air Show coming this weekend

    OWENSBORO, KY. – The 2015 Owensboro Air Show is set for Friday through Sunday. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds is the weekend’s headliner, along with the paratroop skills of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command Unit.

    Activities will begin Friday at the Owensboro Regional Airport from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday’s activities will be overhead along the riverfront from 1 to 4 p.m. The Glover Cary “Blue” Bridge  will be closed from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

  • Medicine cabinet clean-out day Sept. 29

    PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Substance Abuse Council, along with Tell City Police Department, Perry County Sheriff’s Department, Cannelton Police Department and the Perry County Recycling Management District will sponsor a medicine-cabinet clean-out day Saturday, Sept, 29, from 8 a.m. to noon. This year’s drop-off location is the Tell City Fire Department.
