    American Legion Unit 213’s Auxiliary will have its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the post home in Tell City. Plans will be made for the auxiliary’s annual Christmas gathering. Charlotte Lindauer will preside and all members and prospective members are encouraged to attend.

    EUCHRE PLAYERS filled nine tables Wednesday at the Bristow Community Center. Lorna Garrett finished in first place with 88 points, followed by John Qualters with 85 points, Hubert Harpenau with 84 and Vernie Harpenau with 81.

    GOPerry breakfast Saturday

    TELL CITY – The GOPerry Club will sponsor an 8:30 a.m. breakfast meeting Saturday at Ponderosa.

    Melissa Lueken, from the Perry County Department of Child Services, will be a guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.

    MU  GAMMA CHAPTER OF BETA SIGMA PHI will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at Carolyn Craddock’s home. A Ritual of Master Award will be presented to Craddock, Susie Harpenau, Pat McCleerey, Shirley Quick, Judy Roberts and Sheilda Schmitt in recognition of their many years of service to the sorority. A tea will be held after the ritual in their honor. The membership committee will host the event.

    Cannelton Christmas Parade plans in place

    CANNELTON – Cannelton American Legion Post and Ladies Auxiliary will host their annual Christmas parade Nov. 29.  
    Line-up will begin at 5 p.m. along Old Highway 237. The route will take a left onto Indiana 66, a right onto Washington Street and end at the floodwall. The parade will begin at 6 p.m.

    ST. MARKS – Deer Creek Baptist Church will host a shoebox packing party at 6 p.m. Sunday.

    Annual deer dinner Nov. 16

    BRISTOW – The annual deer dinner at Bristow United Pentecostal Church, 20843 Indiana 145, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 16 in the church’s fellowship building.
    The menu will include fried chicken, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, desserts, tea, coffee and lemonade. Cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children younger than 10. The dinner is open to everyone and guests don’t have to be hunters to attend. For more information, call 843-5240 or 843-4747.

    Straw giveaway Saturday at Orscheln’s

    TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will offer straw to residents wanting to provide bedding for doghouses for the upcoming winter.

    Horseman’s club euchre games
     
    PERRY COUNTY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will continue its annual fall euchre games Nov. 2, Nov. 16 and Nov. 30.
    Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 at the door and 25 cents per euchre game.
    Chili, hot dogs, desserts, coffee, sodas and water will be available. No smoking is permitted in the building.
