    TELL CITY – Mu Gamma will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City.

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Coon Club will host its annual shooting match Sunday at the club.

  • Annual Christmas open house at Twilight Towers

    TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will host its annual Christmas open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 in the dining room, 1648 10th St., Tell City.

  • Dutch-oven cook-off Saturday

    BIRDSEYE – The public is invited to take their Dutch oven cookware, supplies, ingredients and setup for a friendly competition at Patoka’s Autumn Getaway 11th annual Dutch oven cook-off from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
    Registration will begin at noon and cooking will start 12:30 p.m. and dishes will be judged upon completion. All culinary skill levels are welcome. Winners will be announced in the cooking area at 4:30 p.m. in the Patoka Lake modern campgrounds.

  • Haunted Hollow makes a return

    NEW BOSTON – The Huffman Haunted Hollow returns for two nights this season.
    The Hollow, at 13352 E. Cr. 1200 N., New Boston, will open at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and 26 and is presented by the youth groups of St. John Chrysostom in New Boston, St. Martin in Christney and St. Bernard in Rockport.
    Admission is free, however donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to the area Christmas Angel Trees.
    Just follow the signs for a Casper trail for the young or a walk through the woods and into the cemetery, which organizers say is like no other.

  • Baby Bloomers benefit Sunday

    TELL CITY – Baby Bloomers Child Care will host a country-western hoe-down fall pageant at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dixon’s Auction House.
    Boys and girls ages birth to 18 years old will participate. Contestants will share a special talent. Prizes will be awarded to everyone who participates.
    Contestants are required to wear country-western attire. Those wishing to watch the pageant are asked to take toiletries and canned goods as donations. All proceeds from the pageant will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.

  • St. Celestine Catholic Church annual shoot

    CELESTINE – St. Celestine Catholic Church will host its annual shoot Oct. 27 on the church grounds.
    The 12-gauge ham shoot will start at 10 a.m. with the closed shoot for beef and pork choices at 2 p.m. First choice will be half a dressed beef and then beef and pork thereafter.
    Fried-chicken dinners with Celestine homemade dressing will be sold along with hamburgers, sausage, French fries and chicken noodle soup.
    Food will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and be carryout only.

  • Buffalo Trace Council announces Cub Scout Fall Field Day

    EVANSVILLE – The Buffalo Trace Council will host a field day Saturday at Eykamp Scout Center, 3501 E. Lloyd Expressway in Evansville.
    The gathering will begin at 8 a.m. with the program concluding at 5 p.m.
    Cub Scout Field Day is an all day event full of noncompetitive activities for youth. Activities will include archery, BBs, games and more.
    The Buffalo Trace Council headquartered in Evansville serves 6,000 youth in the counties of Perry, Spen-cer, Knox, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, Warrick and Vanderburgh counties in southwestern Indiana.

    TC Senior night set for Friday

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior-Senior High School student council will recognize senior athletes and band members at 6 p.m. Friday.

  • RSVP event set for Nov. 22

    TELL CITY – The Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will host its annual recognition event Nov. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City. The event is held to honor the RSVP volunteers who contribute many hours of their time and talent for the betterment of the community.
    The event will feature food, fun and prizes. All RSVP volunteers and volunteer station representatives are invited to attend. RSVP volunteers are also encouraged to take a guest with them.
