TELL CITY – Former Indiana Gov. Edgar D. Whitcomb will host a book signing at Cinderella’s in Tell City Saturday
The signing for Whitcomb’s latest book, “Cilin II, A Solo Sailing Odyssey,” will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Copies will be available for sale at the signing.

TELL CITY – The Perry County United Methodist churches will host a back-to-school bash from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Tell City United Methodist Church.
Free hot dogs, drinks and games will be available in the church parking lot on 10th and Mozart streets.
The first 150 students will be given a zipper bag donated by Fifth Third, German American and Old National banks, along with school supplies donated by the churches’ congregations and Farm Bureau.

TELL CITY – The Friends of the Perry County Public Library will hold their annual book sale at the Tell City branch, 2328 Tell Street, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
A special preview sale for Friends of the Library members only will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday.
New memberships will be accepted before and during this special sale. Applications for membership are available at the library and on the library’s Web site, www.tcpclibrary.org. Annual dues are $5 for individuals and $10 for families.

The Cannelton Foundation, along with the city, has started plans for the annual Cannelton Heritage Fest and 175th anniversary of the city.
