    Run with the Reindeer Saturday at Depot

    TELL CITY – The Tell City After-Prom Committee will host a Reindeer Run 5-kilometer run-walk Dec. 7 starting at 8 a.m. at the Tell City Depot on Seventh Street.

    Golden Living bazaar Friday

    TELL CITY – Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills’ resident council is preparing for its annual Christmas bazaar. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the center.

    Crafts, new and slightly used items, candy and baked goods will be available for purchase.

    All proceeds will go to the resident council fund.  Residents decide how the money is spent.

  • Children’s caroling program coming to library

    TELL CITY – Perry County Public Library announces registration is now open for its children’s Christmas caroling program. Christmas caroling will begin at 6 p.m. Dec. 16  at the Tell City location.

    The program includes caroling, making “magic reindeer food” and refreshments of cookies and milk.

    Space is limited and certain to fill up, organizers said. To register for the Christmas caroling program, call the Tell City location at 547-2661.

    This program is best suited for children ages birth through third grade.

  • Library plans holiday craft programs in December

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Library will host three upcoming holiday craft events. From 6 to 7:30 p.m.  Dec. 9, Dana Franzman will lead a card-making workshop.

    Card materials will be provided but participants are asked to take a type of adhesive, such as a glue stick, tape runner or liquid craft glue. Two Christmas cards will be made. The class is open to all skill levels and will serve as an introduction to those new to paper crafts or those curious about card making. The class is limited to 10 people.

    Republican Christmas open house Dec. 8

    TELL CITY – Perry County Republicans will host a Christmas open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 8. The event will be at the party’s county headquarters, 1005 Main St. in Tell City.

    St. John’s Christmas bazaar Dec. 7

    NEW BOSTON – St. John’s Lutheran Church, one-half mile west of New Boston, will host its annual Christmas bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7.

    THE WILLIAM TELL Center will have their weekly dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at the center. The Sunshine Band will perform.

    TWILIGHT TOWERS offers bingo and euchre games in its dining room. Bingo games are held every Wednesday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and card games are held at 6 p.m. Thursdays and the first Monday of each month. The public is invited.

  • Weekend brunches planned at Branchville Masonic Lodge

    BRANCHVILLE – Branchville Masonic Lodge 496, F&AM, will host brunches for hungry deer hunters and the public during November and December.

    Brunch will be served in the Branchville Lodge hall in Branchville.

    Brunches will be served from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and again Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.

    The menu will include biscuits with sausage gravy, sausage and biscuits, ham and biscuits, eggs and omelets, bean soup, corn bread, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and bratwurst.

    American Legion Unit 213’s Auxiliary will have its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the post home in Tell City. Plans will be made for the auxiliary’s annual Christmas gathering. Charlotte Lindauer will preside and all members and prospective members are encouraged to attend.

    EUCHRE PLAYERS filled nine tables Wednesday at the Bristow Community Center. Lorna Garrett finished in first place with 88 points, followed by John Qualters with 85 points, Hubert Harpenau with 84 and Vernie Harpenau with 81.

    GOPerry breakfast Saturday

    TELL CITY – The GOPerry Club will sponsor an 8:30 a.m. breakfast meeting Saturday at Ponderosa.

    Melissa Lueken, from the Perry County Department of Child Services, will be a guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.
