  • Wine and dine March 15

    ST. MEINRAD – Team Happy of St. Boniface and St. Meinrad churches will hold its second annual Wine and Dine March 15 at the St. Meinrad Community Center. Wine tasting is from 4 to 6 p.m. CST.
    Pork-chop dinners will be catered by New Boston Tavern and served at 6:30 p.m.

    FERDINAND – The Executive Board of the Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission will meet Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the commission’s office located at 221 E. First Street in Ferdinand.

    Backpack food program chili benefit Sunday
    TELL CITY – The Evangelical United Church of Christ will hold a chili luncheon to benefit the Weekend Backpack Food Program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the EUCC fellowship hall at 802 10th Street in Tell City.

    The meal will include chili, a peanut butter sandwich, dessert and a drink.  Donations for the meal will be accepted at the door and proceeds will be donated to the backpack program. All three county school systems participate in the program.

    MU GAMMA CHAPTER OF BETA SIGMA PHI will celebrate Valentine’s Day at 6 p.m. Thursday at Fiesta Grande in Tell City. Hostesses will be the special events committee.

    THE BRISTOW COMMUNITY CENTER offers euchre at 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the center.

    THE WILLIAM TELL CENTER will have its weekly dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at the center. Sweetwater will perform.

    LCC to hold euchre tourney Saturday
    LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will hold several euchre tourneys in February and March. The first will be held Saturday at the club. Doors open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Tourneys are also scheduled for Feb. 22, March 8, March 21 and April 5.

  • Glory Bees Preschool enrolling for 2014-15 school year

    TELL CITY – Glory Bees Preschool, a Christian-based school established in 1986, is currently accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year. Glory Bees students participate in a variety of learning activities using Learning Through Play, a teaching method and philosophy with the concept that children learn best when they are having fun.

    Students will be introduced to Christian character-development, math, science, art, music, phonetic introduction to letters, manners and cooking.

    Ghost Hunters offer novice hunt Saturday
    TELL CITY – Tell City Ghost Hunters will  sponsor a novice hunt from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Feb. 8 at the Perry County Museum and the Old Cannelton Gym.

    Novice hunts are designed for individuals who are interested in paranormal activity but are not a part of an organized team. The event is sponsored by Tell City Ghost Hunters, an experienced team. They will have equipment for participants to use.
