    LCC to hold euchre tourney Saturday
    LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will hold several euchre tourneys in February and March. The first will be held Saturday at the club. Doors open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Tourneys are also scheduled for Feb. 22, March 8, March 21 and April 5.

    THE WILLIAM TELL CENTER will have its weekly dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at the center. The 3 For All band will perform.

  • Glory Bees Preschool enrolling for 2014-15 school year

    TELL CITY – Glory Bees Preschool, a Christian-based school established in 1986, is currently accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year. Glory Bees students participate in a variety of learning activities using Learning Through Play, a teaching method and philosophy with the concept that children learn best when they are having fun.

    Students will be introduced to Christian character-development, math, science, art, music, phonetic introduction to letters, manners and cooking.

    Ghost Hunters offer novice hunt Saturday
    TELL CITY – Tell City Ghost Hunters will  sponsor a novice hunt from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Feb. 8 at the Perry County Museum and the Old Cannelton Gym.

    Novice hunts are designed for individuals who are interested in paranormal activity but are not a part of an organized team. The event is sponsored by Tell City Ghost Hunters, an experienced team. They will have equipment for participants to use.

    THE DAUGHTERS OF ISABELLA will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the parish hall. Committee for refreshments will be Janet Damin, Sarajane Damin, Emma Damin, Cleta Dauby and Becky Davis. Members unable to attend are asked to call in their volunteer hours to Mary at 547-4847 or Becky at 836-2805.

    Pancake breakfast Feb. 8
    CANNELTON- Tell City Ghost Hunters will sponsor an-all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast Feb 8 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Cannelton American Legion.  Meal will include your choice of milk, juice or coffee.  

  • Oakwood Villas ribbon-cutting tomorrow

    TELL CITY - The Perry County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the expansion of Oakwood Health Campus and grand opening of the Villas at noon Jan. 31. Oakwood Health Campus is located at 1143 23rd St. in Tell City.

  • Benefit for Metcalf held Friday, Saturday at Bear’s Place

    CANNELTON – A live-entertainment benefit for Sarah Metcalf will be held Friday and Saturday evening at Bear’s Place in Cannelton.

    Music will begin at 9 p.m. Friday with Tantrum performing, followed by headlining musicians Blackford Creek at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, 5th Degree Burn will take the stage at 9:30, followed by headliner Rooney and the Rumpshakers at 11:30 p.m.

    Music will also be provided by DJ Just a Little Bit Louder. Bear’s Place is located at 205 Washington in Cannelton.

    Twilight Towers welcomes all seniors to dance
    TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will host a Valentine’s Day dance from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 14, in the  dining room at 1648 10th St. in Tell City. Sweetwater will perform.

    4-H open house Sunday
    PERRY COUNTY – A 4-H open house will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Perry County Fairgrounds. A free movie will be shown afterward. All 4-H families and potential new members are invited to attend.

    Legion Texas hold’em Saturday
    TELL CITY – American Legion Post 213 will hold a no-limit Texas hold’em tournament Saturday at the post home.
