  • Dates Set for St. Meinrad ROCKS! Fest

    ST. MEINRAD – Inkspot Productions, LLC has announced the dates for the fourth annual St. Meinrad ROCKS! Fest.
    The 2014 benefit event will be held at the St. Meinrad Park on September 25 and 26.

    This year’s event will again feature a beer garden, children’s activities, and music by approximately 20 acts, both bands and solo acts, both returning favorites and newcomers. Concessions and merchandise will also be sold.

    The weekend schedule will be announced at a later date.

  • Autograph collectors club for kids forming

    TELL CITY – Local autograph collector Glenn Markiewicz plans to form a club for kids to teach them how to write letters and fill out envelopes that will be sent to their favorite celebrities. The first meeting is set for 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, in the Fifth Third Bank meeting room. Anyone interested in joining or supporting the club is encouraged to attend.

  • Relay For Life trivia night at Archabbey Feb. 28

    TELL CITY – Saint Meinrad Archabbey and Abbey Press’ Relay For Life annual trivia night will be held Saturday, Feb. 28. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. CST and trivia will begin at 7 at the Archabbey Guest House and Retreat Center dining room. Snacks and soft drinks will be provided.

    Suggested donation is $15 per person. Spectators are welcome for a $5 donation which includes snacks and drinks. Teams of 3-4 players may sign up or teammates can be assigned. A silent auction will be held and prizes will be awarded to the winning team.

  • AA dinner meeting Saturday

    TELL CITY – Perry County Alcoholics Anonymous will host a dinner meeting Saturday, Feb. 21, at United Methodist Church in Tell City. The doors will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. A guest speaker will begin at 7. Attendees are welcome to take a guest and a covered dish or dessert.

  • DAR schedules events, seeks project help

    TELL CITY - The veterans project of the Lafayette Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has become massive and they are in need of help.

    The chapter will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Tell City branch of the Perry County Public Library to discuss what needs to be done and how others can help. Currently, more than 750 Perry County veterans forms have been turned in.

  • BBBS fun run, kids dash set for Saturday, March 7

    TELL CITY – The second annual Big Brothers Big Sisters 5k walk and run and kids’ dash sponsored by Everbody’s Fitness of Tell City will be held at 8:30 a.m. March 7.

    The race theme this year will be March Madness. All participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite team’s attire. The best March Madness-themed walker or runner will get to throw a pie in someone’s face, with the walker and pie-in-the-face recipient to be announced after the race.

    Marketplace enrollment ends soon
    TELL CITY – The federal marketplace open-enrollment period will run through Feb. 15. Southwest Indiana Regional Council on Aging has certified Indiana navigators available at the Tell City branch of the Perry County Public Library every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Thursday, Feb. 12 (today) to answer questions and help with health-care enrollment.
